FROM THE DESK OF FR. LUKE... DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PADRE LUKE...
We are quickly approaching the end of the liturgical year where we will celebrate the feast of Christ the King and then begin our new year with Advent. The gospel this Sunday challenges us to reflect on Christ as our sovereign king, our service to him, and the last gift of the Holy Spirit “Fear of the Lord”.
The last servant was afraid of the master as a judging punisher and so did nothing with the “Talent” or weight of money. The other faithful servants took the risk to make more money. The king wanted the servants to risk the money given so as to grow his wealth.
This parable is to be understood as the question for us. What are we to do with what God has given to us in our lives? First, we are not given equal ability; or, with a play on words, we have different talents. Christ our master and judge expects us to risk our lives so as to grow the wealth of His kingdom. What is the money or wealth of God? People, us!
To be a “good and faithful servant” is to use our lives for the evangelization and conversation of others. Are you a missionary in the world for Christ our King?

Nos acercamos rápidamente al final del año litúrgico donde celebraremos la fiesta de Cristo Rey y luego comenzaremos nuestro nuevo año con el Adviento. El evangelio de este domingo nos desafía a reflexionar sobre Cristo como nuestro rey soberano, nuestro servicio a él y el último don del Espíritu Santo “Temor del Señor”. El último sirviente temía al amo como un castigador y por eso no hizo nada con el “Talento” o el peso del dinero. Los otros sirvientes fieles se arriesgaron a ganar más dinero. El rey quería que los sirvientes arriesgaran el dinero dado para aumentar su riqueza. Esta parábola debe entenderse como la pregunta para nosotros. ¿Qué vamos a hacer con lo que Dios nos ha dado en nuestras vidas? Primero, no se nos da la misma capacidad; o, en otras palabras, tenemos diferentes talentos. Cristo, nuestro maestro y juez, espera que arriesguemos nuestras vidas para hacer crecer las riquezas de su reino. ¿Qué es el dinero o la riqueza de Dios? La Gente, nosotros! Ser un “siervo bueno y fiel” es usar nuestra vida para la evangelización y la conversación de los demás. ¿Eres misionero en el mundo por Cristo nuestro Rey?

SERRA VOCATION THOUGHT
Jesus leaves no doubt as to His endless desire to share His di-vine life with those open to His call. He shows Himself in the scriptures as the “guest” who stands at the door and knocks for entrance into our hearts. Also, He is the “host” who awaits anx-iously a knock from us for admission into a special union with Him. Frequently, it is through this dual desire of Christ as “guest” and “host” that a Christocentric life as priest, deacon or vowed religious is offered and accepted. For this we dare to pray.

Jesús no deja duda en cuanto a su interminable deseo de compartir su vida divina con los que están abiertos a su llamada. Se nos muestra en las escrituras como el “invitado” que está parado en la puerta y llama a la puerta para la entrada en nuestros corazones. También, él es el “anfitrión” que aguarda ansiosamente un llamado de nosotros para admisión en una unión especial con él. Por la seguridad y el bienestar de todos, y para que podamos seguir compartiendo un hermoso y liturgia reverente les pedimos que sigan todos instrucciones. Gracias por su cooperación.

Beginning the weekend of Nov. 14th and Nov. 15th, we will be celebrating all masses outside on the plaza until further notice. For the safety and well-being of all, and so that we can continue to share in a beautiful and reverent liturgy we ask you to please follow all instructions. Thank you for your cooperation.
Mass Schedule - See front page The mass schedule will remain the same, although you may want to arrive early.
Shade/Jackets If you would like to provide yourself with shade, you may bring an umbrella, but be mindful of the wind. Please bring a jacket or coat to be prepared for cold weather.
Still Practicing Safety! Because it is a gathering of people, masks are still required for Mass and around church grounds. 6 foot social distancing between households is still required - please space out and follow guides provided in order to maintain rows and aisles. Please wash or disinfect your hands frequently, especially before mass.
Offertory Please drop any donations in one of the collection boxes or baskets. You may also donate online or text your dona-tion. You may also continue to mail in donations or drop them off at the parish office.
Communion Eucharistic Ministers will sanitize their hands prior to distribution of communion. No receiving Communion on the tongue only in the hand. Please maintain social distancing while waiting in line for communion.

Chairs will be disinfected between Masses
The Church will remain open throughout the week
for individual private prayer and adoration.
Although we are not allowing indoor group meetings because of Covid-19 while we are in the purple tier, we are still accepting room reservation forms for when we can have meetings.

AVISO DE CORTESÍA La construcción de la carretera ha comenzado en Cole Grade Road. SDGE está bajo líneas eléc-tricas de conexión a tierra desde Valley Center Road hasta Cole Grade Road y hasta Pauma Heights Road. Next weekend has been designated for the 2020 Collection for National Needs. Special envelopes will be available for the col-lection which supports the Black and Indian Missions, the Cath-olic Home Missions, the Catholic Communication Campaign, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, and the Cath-olic University of America.

MASTER IN ARTS IN PASTORAL MINISTRIES
Santa Clara University offers a Master in Arts (MA) in Pastoral Ministries in the Diocese of San Diego. Santa Clara University’s MA in Pastoral Ministries Program is hosting a Virtual Open House on Thursday November 19
th (see Pastoral Ministries MA flyer). There will be two
open house sessions offered on November 19th: (1) 11:00
am to 12:00 pm and (2) 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Each open house session is identical, and it is only necessary to at-tend one of the sessions to learn more about this wonder-ful graduate-level educational opportunity in our diocese.”

God calls us to nurture and develop the gifts He has given us
and then generously return a portion with increase. He doesn’t
want us to waste or hoard the gifts He has given us. He expects
us to grow our gifts, use them wisely and be generous with
them. Unfortunately, many of us are not generous in proportion
to all that God has given us.
