El Sermón de la montaña nos ofrece la opor-tunidad de entender lo que significa ser bendecido. Ser bendecido por Dios significa recibir la paz divina de vida que significa el estado de cumplimiento o felicidad. Sin embargo, una pregunta puede venir a la mente: ¿cómo pueden ser felices los pobres, los hambrientos y los que lloran? El problema es que a los afligidos por los problemas de este mundo les resulta mucho más fácil reconocer la verdad de nuestra existencia. Los pobres, los hambrientos y los que lloran no están distraídos, sino desesperados por la satisfacción, que solo pueden encontrar en la fe. Un hombre hambriento que está sin oportunidad encuentra consuelo solo en Dios. Sin embargo, ¡ay de aquellos que son ricos, están llenos, se ríen y son admirados porque están recibiendo satisfacción en sus vidas! Los satisfechos se distraen con el mundo y fácilmente desconocen su necesidad de Dios. En los tiempos antepasados, cuando una persona era pobre o hambrienta; ellos, muchas veces, morirían de hambre. Considere las oportunidades disponibles en los Estados Unidos: ¿Mueren las personas de hambre? Nuestra forma de vida, incluso para los pobres, es mucho mejor que la persona promedio cuando Jesús dio este sermón en los tiempos antepasados. ¿Estamos distraídos por nuestras vidas cómodas y las satisfacciones del mundo? The Sermon on the Plain offers us a chance to understand what it means to be blessed. To be blessed by God means to receive the divine peace of life signifying the state of fulfillment, or happiness. However, a question may come to mind: how can the poor, the hungry, and the weeping be happy. The issue is that those who are afflicted by the trou-bles of this world find it much easier to recognize the truth of our existence. The poor, hungry, and weeping are not distracted, but rather desperate for satisfaction, which they are only able to find in faith. A starving man who is with out opportunity finds consolation only in God.
However, woe to they who are rich, filled, laughing, and admired for they are receiving satis-faction in their lives. The satisfied are distracted with the world and easily become unaware of their need for God. In ancient times, when a person was poor or hungry; they, many times, would starve to death. Consider the opportunities available in the United States: Do people starve to death?
Our way of life, even for the poor, is much better than the average person when Jesus gave this sermon in ancient times. Are we distracted by our comfortable lives and the satisfactions of the world? Or, do you hunger for God’s consolation?

Cristo en el Valle es una oportunidad para escuchar, orar y reflexionar sobre la Palabra de Dios durante las 6 sema-nas de Cuaresma.
