Born to Eternal Life

Martin Aguilera, Esther Berumen, Robert J. Matz (nephew of Margaret Nachtrab) and Maria Luisa Villarreal have passed into Eternal Life. We pray that they will inherit the promise of Christ.

Oración a San Miguel Arcángel Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

ARE YOU A REGISTERED MEMBER OF THE PARISH?

Have you registered? Registration is very important, is a statement of your desire to be members of a Catholic community and a commitment to the life of this parish. Being a registered member of the parish will ease the process when it’s time to ask for a Baptism, Religious Education, Weddings, when they ask you to be a sponsor, godfather or godmother; or at the occasion of illness or death.

Often, people ask for letter of affidavit and those can only be provided to members who are registered, active, and contributing to the parish. How do

you know if you are registered? A registered member receives correspondence from the parish. If you're not, please register. Our registration process can be completed anytime the office is open.

Dear St. Ansgar Family, Every year, the Deacons of the Archdiocese of Chicago come together to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis. We do this with a dinner, and it provides us with a fund raising event. This is our sole fundraiser event of the year. We use these funds to support educational aid for Deacons, and wives, as well as support Deacon founded ministries (Hopes on the Way, Kolbe House, Emmaus Ministry to name a few). We also use the funds to help with the operating funds for the council. This year, I am asking if you’d be in-terested in purchasing a raffle ticket, or booklet. The tickets are $5 each, or 6 for $25. The first prize is $1000 cash. There is also 1 $500 winner, 2 $100, and 6 $50 winners. If you’d be interested in taking a chance (Winner need not be present!), and purchasing a ticket (or book), please let me know. I have them, and will either get them to you, or you can mail me a check, and I will complete the information for you. We also host a silent auction, and always looking for goods for it. Perhaps you have a time-share, that you won’t be using a week (or weekend) within the next year. Or tickets to a sporting event, or play you’d be willing to donate. We are a non-profit organization, and I can supply a tax letter. Thank you for your support of the Deacons within the Archdiocese of Chicago, and of course especially for Deacon John, and myself. We truly are blessed to be part of St. Ansgar. Please call me at 630-289-4701 if you’re interested. If the machine answers – Please leave me a message! I will get back to you.

Thank you again! God Bless you all!

Sue Szarek

Dear Parish Family,

I hope you are pleased with the noticeable enhancements to the interior of our church as you came in for Mass today. As mentioned in the announcements last weekend, it is because of your financial support that improvements like this can be set forth and realized. Your support of the building fund collection each month, which is crucial for necessary maintenance of our church building, can at times be used for aesthetic improvements depending on the amount of the collection. Money from the building fund collection, along with the substantial profit earned from the car raffle, allowed us to have our woodwork restained and our church walls brightened with fresh paint. This is only the first step toward the beautification of our worship space in which we give honor, praise and glory to God. Within the next few months, the church’s carpeting will be replaced along with the installation of new pews. The sanctuary where Jesus resides in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar will come later and be saved for last, as we raise funds with the next car raffle, etc. This holy and sacred area will eventually be made into a more fitting dwelling space for Our Lord, that goes along with the body of the Church. Of course, all of this comes with a price tag which is why I have to turn to you, the parishioners, and ask for your financial support to make these renovations possible. Our Church building is simple and practical, and we need to keep that in mind along with our financial means. More than ever your support is needed for our next major fundraiser, the Mexican Independence Festival on September 16th. Your support of the Building Fund Collection is also crucial. If you do not regularly donate to the Building Fund, I ask you to reconsider and give your best so we in turn can give God the best. For those who regularly give, thank you. And if everyone can extend themselves just a little more in their financial giving to the Building Fund over the next few months, I think you’ll be very pleased with the results. Most of all, may it please Our Lord. In order to offset the cost of the new pews, anyone wishing to purchase a pew for $1,000.00 (or two families for $500.00 each) can do so. The individual or family will have a name plate on the pew. It also makes a fitting memorial for our loved ones that have died. You can contact the office or see me for more details. In all the ways you support our parish – financially, through volunteerism or simply by your prayerful presence – I humbly thank you. May God bless each of you and your families, and may your generosity be returned to you most abundantly. In Christ, Fr. Eduardo Garcia-Ferrer
