February 25, 2012

Welcome to our annual Crab Feed! We know it’s going to be a great evening for both our PFC and our school. Your support of this event is greatly appreciated.

There aren’t enough words to express our gratitude for all of the support the PFC extends to Wells. Our PFC plays such a vital role at our school for our students and for our staff. The PFC’s funding and support allows us to do many things that sustain and supplement our curriculum and enrich our campus life and culture.

PFC funding is crucial to things such as our ever-evolving Wells Character Ed Program. The PFC has embraced our vision for this program – which has gone from Soul Shoppe to the development of an unique, staff-run program for our school – and has backed it up with total financial support for the past six years.

The PFC has also provided significant funding for such programs as math intervention programs, the Science Club, AIM (Academic Improvement Meetings), and Barton. They also provide funding to keep our library open for extended hours every week to better serve our kids and funds to develop and increase the book collection to encourage kids to read more.

Over the years, PFC has also funded professional learning for Wells teachers as well as providing classroom stipends and individual funding grants for special projects.

The PFC is also crucial to the spirit of our “School with Heart,” providing annual events to staff such as the First Day Breakfast, Conference Night Dinner and Staff Appreciation Lunch. In addition to their work to produce tonight’s event, the PFC runs our “infamous” muffin brigade during CST testing, the 8th-grade dance at year’s end, the “Wells Whatever Wednesday” event during the last week of school, and helps out in many small, behind the scenes ways throughout the school year.

Everyone on the staff and administration at Wells sincerely appreciates the collaborative relationship we have with our PFC. We look forward to continuing to work together to create the best school for all of our students, especially during these financially challenging times for education. We hope that you will be generous tonight in helping the PFC continue their important work on our behalf

Sincerely,

Kevin Grier, Ed.D.
