Safety fencing
We are very happy to welcome back all students by October 25 Students will be returning in the following wayMonday October 18 - Kindergarten and Year 1 Monday October 25 - Year 2 - 6Please refer to email sent to families on Tuesday 12 October which included full back to school information including cohort specific drop-off and pick up information We canrsquot wait to see all students on their return to school Please remember that all borrowed devices and chargers must be returned to school on your childrsquos return to school date
Over the learning from home period safety fencing has been installed within the staff car park on St Peters St to separate it from the playground This safety fencing is expected to be finished on Monday 18 October This is a joint project between the school PampC grant and Executive Directorrsquos office Thank you to all involved
If you have changed your address phone number or email address please let us know This is also the time of year where we are commencing planning for 2022 If your child will not be attending St Peters PS in 2022 please let the office know as soon as possible

Student Wellbeing
Student Health and Attendance
There are a range of resources available to families to support student welfare as students return to school Please donrsquot hesitate to contact your childrsquos class teacher if your child needs additional support All parents can access the Department of Educationrsquos Wellbeing for students and families page for a range of mental health and wellbeing resources In particular it may be useful to have a look at some of the tips on the Helpful tips for primary students coming back to school
Students are expected to attend school from their designated return to school date unless they are unwell or have even mild symptoms of COVID-19 Any person with any COVID-19 symptoms must be sent home and not return to school unless they have isolated for 10 days when no medical certificate is available they have a negative COVID-19 test result and are symptom freeIn circumstances where children have other medical reasons for recurrent symptoms a letter from their GP is sufficient to negate the requirement for a negative test
Canteen resumption dateBotany Bites will resume canteen delivery service for all students on Monday 25 October Please see current menu and a message from Botany Bites later in this newsletter

School Travel for 2022
2022 school travel applications are now open
Students who need a School Opal card or travel pass for 2022 can apply now A new application will need to be submitted if they are applying for a school travel pass for the first time or if they are requesting an additional travel entitlement as a result of a new shared parental responsibility situation (eg joint custody) Students who change address school campus location or who have repeated a year or received an expiry notification from Transport for NSW for their school travel entitlement should renew or update their details before the end of term 4 This will ensure that schools can endorse applications and current entitlements are updated and remain valid School Opal card holders will have the changes applied to their existing card If a studentrsquos distance eligibility has changed based on their grade the system will automatically update their entitlement if they meet the new criteria If they do not meet the new eligibility criteria they will receive an expiry notification via email Students who have an entitlement approved under a medical condition that is due to expire will receive a notification advising them to re-apply Term Bus Pass holders will receive a notification to re-apply Students in the Opal network applying for an Opal card (including a Term Bus Pass) for the first time will receive their Student Opal card at their nominated postal address Cards will be mailed out from January 2022 Students living in rural and regional (RampR) areas should receive their travel pass at the start of the new school year from their nominated transport operator It may come via the school or be sent directly to them at home Note some RampR operators do not issue travel passes Studentsparents should confirm with their nominated operator if they do not receive a pass

Selective high schools cater for academically gifted students with high potential who may otherwise be without sufficient classmates at their own academic standard Selective high schools help these students to learn by grouping them with students of similar ability and by using specialised teaching methods
If you would like to have your child considered for Year 7 selective high school entry in 2023 you need to apply on the internet using a valid email address (not the studentrsquos email address) The Selective High School Placement Test will be held on Thursday 10 March 2022

School Travel for 2022
2022 school travel applications are now open
Students who need a School Opal card or travel pass for 2022 can apply now A new application will need to be submitted if they are applying for a school travel pass for the first time or if they are requesting an additional travel entitlement as a result of a new shared parental responsibility situation (eg joint custody) Students who change address school campus location or who have repeated a year or received an expiry notification from Transport for NSW for their school travel entitlement should renew or update their details before the end of term 4 This will ensure that schools can endorse applications and current entitlements are updated and remain valid School Opal card holders will have the changes applied to their existing card If a studentrsquos distance eligibility has changed based on their grade the system will automatically update their entitlement if they meet the new criteria If they do not meet the new eligibility criteria they will receive an expiry notification via email Students who have an entitlement approved under a medical condition that is due to expire will receive a notification advising them to re-apply Term Bus Pass holders will receive a notification to re-apply Students in the Opal network applying for an Opal card (including a Term Bus Pass) for the first time will receive their Student Opal card at their nominated postal address Cards will be mailed out from January 2022 Students living in rural and regional (RampR) areas should receive their travel pass at the start of the new school year from their nominated transport operator It may come via the school or be sent directly to them at home Note some RampR operators do not issue travel passes Studentsparents should confirm with their nominated operator if they do not receive a pass
