Life Quote “Let us consider how we can
encourage one another, how we can
help one another in these times in
which we are overcome, how we can
spur one another on to love and to
good works, how we can gather
together, not neglecting one another
in meeting together but instead
gathering in the presence of God,
encouraging one another as we wait
for that Day to finally appear.”
Rev. Dr. Tony Cook,
Lutheran Hour Ministries
ST. PAUL’S MISSION
Make disciples that
GATHER together, GROW
in Jesus, and GO and be
His hands and feet.
ST. PAUL | MONTHLY NEWSLETTER | AUGUST 2019
VBS FUN!!!
I can’t believe that VBS is already over! We had such an
amazing year this year with over 40 children, over 20
volunteers putting in countless hours of time, and most
Importantly we proclaimed Jesus to our church and local
community.
The children were able to have fun with games, crafts,
swimming, campfire activities, and food! They learned about
God their Creator who made each of them in his image.
They discovered the promises of God given to Abraham and
fulfilled in Jesus. And they heard about a Savior who took on
flesh as a man and died in their place. Mission 3:16 was all
about helping these children, their families, and even the
volunteers hear the good news that God loves the world so
much that he gave his only Son up to die that we may not
perish but have life eternal. Cont. page 3

Do you know someone in our congregation or in the community
who needs help, could use a visit, or just needs some compassion shown to them?
The compassion Project of St. Paul wants to help. Whether it’s a
meal, some paper products, or help fixing a leaky toilet, the compassion project seeks to project the light of Christ to people
through compassion.
In the pews there are yellow sheets that you can fill out providing us information with someone you know who is in need of help. If
you are interested in serving with the compassion project or want
to know more, please call 989.727.2496.
What is “The Koinonia Journal”
For years, the newsletter at St. Paul was called “Fellowship News”. With the new facelift to the newsletter also comes a play on its original name. The word “koinonia” is Greek for fellowship (specifically Christian fellowship), and a journal is a form of news. We hope that this St. Paul publication will keep you informed and updated on the business of the congregation as well as the opportunities for outreach and fellowship. If you have any questions about this publications, please contact the office.

LWR Quilters
St. Paul Quilters will meet August 1 and 15 from 10:00 - 1:00. For anyone new or visiting St. Paul's, everyone is welcome to join us regardless of sewing experience. We have all the equipment and materials necessary and a variety of tasks to be completed. We meet the first and third Thurs-days each month in the conference room by the office. The majority of our quilts are donated to Lu-theran World Relief. Currently we are working on quilts for Deer Hunter's Roundup which will be sold for money to donate to various organizations or for any supplies needed.
We appreciate all the help we can get. Thank you to Virginia Dault for donating all the colorful sheets for backs, and tops that you've created. We really need people to help us put the layers together to finish as many quilts as we can before they are shipped out in October. Thank you also to Judy Rich for donating another sewing machine. Hopefully we have enough people to keep all our machines whirring away.

FELLOWSHIP BOARD NEWS
A dream of the Board of Parish Fellowship when we first met three years was to establish a lending library at St Paul’s. In the past few days Ken and Karen Lobert took our dream off the drawing board and it’s on its way to becoming a reality with the donation of a beautiful cabinet with glass front doors. You will hear more about this in the next couple of weeks. We say THANK YOU Ken and Karen for being so generous.
ONLINE GIVING WITH KINDRID
St. Paul Lutheran Church now offers online
giving through Kindrid. Kindrid provides the
flexibility for you to give how you want to,
regardless of day or time. You’ll be able to give
your tithes and offerings in several different
ways. We have a link on our website where
you can give or you can give via text message.
Part of the flexibility is the payment method
you use to give. Of course, you’ll still be able to
give via a check, even through our online
giving platform. You can also give with a credit
or debit card. Online giving allows us to be better stewards by affording you the opportunity to give
on a regular basis. In addition, you will be able to set up recurring tithes and offerings.
Along with Kindrid, we’re excited to participate in Youth UpLift—a scholarship program that helps
churches raise funds for their youth ministries. With a little help from our church family, we can raise
up to $2,000! The awarded scholarship funds go directly to our youth/children program. All you have
to do is set up a recurring gift. For every 25 new recurring givers that sign up, we get a scholarship
check for $200. The gift amount can be as humble as $1 and increase to any desired amount, and
the frequency is up to you, whether that’s every week, once a month, or something else.
How to sign up? Set up a recurring gift by visiting the giving page on our website.
It’s a simple, one-time set up.
