ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH
After Jesus was baptized, ... he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

Jesus said: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witness. - ACTS 1:8
ADULT CONFIRMATION Are you an adult baptized Catholic who has received
First Communion but was never Confirmed? Are you interested in knowing about the process to receive
the Holy Spirit in this Sacrament in which you will be gifted with a fuller experience of God’s Grace?
If your answer is yes, please contact Jerri Fife at 805.459.2535
WHY SHOULD I RECEIVE THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION?
“The reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For by the sacrament of
Confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit.
Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.”
CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH #1285
THE EFFECTS OF CONFIRMATION Confirmation brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace:
† it roots us more deeply in becoming adopted sons and daughters of God which makes us cry, “Abba! Father!”;
† it unites us more firmly to Christ;
† it increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us;
† it renders our bond with the Church more perfect;
† it gives us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and actions as true witnesses of Christ, to confess the name of Christ boldly, and never to be ashamed of the Cross.
Are you a divorced Catholic who is interested in knowing about the annulment process? There is hope! Pope Francis
has made the annulment time less lengthy because he wishes those in need to be able to be married in the church. We are
here to help you understand and navigate this process. Please call Jerri Fife @ 459-2535 for more information.
Trusting in Jesus, our mentor, we sit in silence… Aware of His presence within our hearts.
