2019 Bishop’s Annual Appeal “For I Was Hungry…” “Mine is the silver and mine the gold, says the LORD of Host.” Haggai 2:8 While there are many ways to donate to the An-nual Appeal, there is one option unique to people who are 70 ½ or over and have an IRA. If you are in this category, the IRS requires you to take a required minimum distribution from your IRA each year. As a result, this distribution is added to your taxable income and increases the amount of taxes owed to the government. However, in-stead of taking your required minimum distribu-tion, you can instruct your IRA investment man-ager to donate this distribution to a charity such as the Bishop’s Annual Appeal and automatically omits this amount from your adjusted gross in-come. This tax benefit can be realized by all qual-ifying individuals, whether you take the standard deduction or itemize your deductions. This can be a significant benefit to you and a great way to support the work of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. For more information, call the Bishop’s Annual

Pastor's Notes After the Pastoral Council meeting, and after several consultations I have made, we have made the decision that during the month of October the Mass on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m. It will be alternated, one Sat-urday in Spanish and the other in English. We have made the decision due to the number of Latino people attending this mass. It will depend on the answer we have if we stay that way, or return to Mass
only in English.
Reminder During the month of October we will be praying the Rosary every Thursday after the 8:00 a.m. Mass. Everyone is invited.

The levels of knowledge distribution are four times more unequal than those that occur in wealth in the world. (Peter Marchetti) "If we do not act now, in the coming years the in-equalities will be gigantic and will become a time bomb that will explode in the face of our chil-dren." (James Wolfensohn, former World Bank president) According to a World Bank report, more than one billion people live below the absolute poverty line, that is, they only have one dollar per day. Most of these poor people are in South Asia and in black Africa. “It is urgent to translate the parable of the rich evil in economic and political terms, in terms of human rights, of relations between the first, the second and the third world.” (Saint John Paul II at the UN February 10, 1979)

Llamado Anual del Obispo 2019 "Porque tuve hambre...”
“El mío es la plata y el oro, dice el Señor de los ejércitos”. Ageo 2: 8 Si bien hay muchas maneras de donar a la Cam-paña anual, hay una opción única para las perso-nas que tienen 70½ años o más y tienen una cuenta IRA. Si se encuentra en esta categoría, el IRS le exige que tome una distribución mínima requerida de su IRA cada año. Como resultado, esta distribución se agrega a su ingreso imponi-ble y aumenta la cantidad de impuestos adeuda-dos al gobierno. Sin embargo, en lugar de tomar su distribución mínima requerida, puede indi-carle a su administrador de inversiones de IRA que done esta distribución a una organización benéfica como la Apelación anual del Obispo y omita automáticamente esta cantidad de su in-greso bruto ajustado. Notas del Pastor Después de la reunión de Consejo Pasto-ral, y luego de varias consultas que he he-cho, hemos tomado la decisión que du-rante el mes de Octubre la misa los sába-dos a las 8:00 a.m. será alternada, un sá-bado en español y el otro en inglés. Hemos tomado la decisión debido a la cantidad de personas latinas que asisten a esta misa. Dependerá de la respuesta que tengamos si nos mantenemos así, o volve-mos a la misa solo en inglés.
Recordatorio Durante el mes de Octubre estaremos rezando el Rosario todos los Jueves después de la misa de las 8:00 a.m. Están todos invitados.
