Emily Pfender
is the middle child of Scott and Robin Pfender. Emily graduated from Suwan-nee High in June of 2012 and is enrolled at Reinhardt Uni-versity in Waleska, GA. where she will earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Performance. Some of Emily's required degree courses will include Piano, Rus-sian, French and German, Ballet and Contemporary Dance! She is SO excited for the opportunity to study at Reinhardt! is happiest when she is busy! Emily spent the summer at Camp Weed as a Camp Counselor and she made wonderful, lifelong friends! She began working on a second summer job teaching Taylor High School Band, Color Guard students.
Laine Fletcher will be in the 9th grade this August, going to Lowndes High, she en-joys all of her subjects, received 3 of the 5 aca-demic awards at her 8th grade Honor's program. been on the Honor Roll with Distinction (all A's) 6th thru 8th grade. She enjoys singing, was in the middle school choir, partici-pating in the Georgia Honor Chorus in the 6th and 8th grades. is looking for-ward to going to the high school to be a part of the drama program. plays the piano and the guitar, loves to read, and
has just learned how to paddle board this summer at the lake.
Livesay Boggus
Is a 17 years old and will be a senior in high school. She has been an acolyte for about 5 years. She is also a member of the youth group. At school, Livesay is a varsity cheerleader and a member of the tennis team. She is ac-tive in student government, Interact, Key Club, NHS, and Beta Club and has held numerous offices.
Bobby Pfender is
the youngest child of Scott and Robin Pfender and is en-rolled at Suwannee Middle School. If you ask Bobby want he wants to be when he grows up, he'll answer, "A Professional Football Player". If you ask, well...what is your 2nd choice? he'll answer, " A Profes-sional Baseball Player". Being practical, we may ask him a third time, if he can't be a football or baseball player, what would he like to do? He answers, "A Professional Golf Player". You can kind of get the drift...Bobby LOVES sports! Keeping this in mind, he has deter-mined that his non-athletic back-up plan is communications...he'll be a "Sports Commentator"!

PLEASE SIGN UP We are doing very poorly on our coffee hours this
year. Why don’t we try to have a group sign up for a Sunday? Maybe the Youth, the ves-try, the men’s group, etc. It does-n’t have to be fancy and if several people bring 1 item each, easy, breezy! Who wants to go first?????
MEN’S NIGHT OUT Our next men’s din-ner is scheduled for 6:00 pm, Sept. 25th, 2012 . By that time the grill will be hot and ready to cook. Bring your own steak, chicken, or fish and your favorite refreshment. We will provide the salad, a few snacks, paper products, cups, etc. Each of us is asked to contribute a few bucks to the kitty to cover expenses.
LADIES WINE AND CHEESE The next get together will be on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012
at 6pm. Bring your favorite bev-erage and we’ll supply the hors d’oeuvres. We promise – nothing from the grill, but some lovely homemade goodies. Bring a friend and enjoy good food and fellowship. We need hostesses to sign up on the sheet provided on the parish hall bulletin board es-pecially for October.
PARISH DIRECTORY Be sure to pick up your 2012
Parish Directory from the table
in the parish hall.
CHRISTENING CELEBRATION:
Sara Kathryn Breza was baptized
on Sunday, August 19 at St.
Luke's. She is the daughter of
Amy Bouchard Breza and Dr. Jo-
seph Breza. Her grandparents,
Dr. Tom and Carolyn Breza, Drs. Doug and Nancy Smith and
Roger and Sheila Bouchard.
She was born on March 2,
2012 in Columbus, OH. Amy
and Joe felt it was very special to
have their firstborn baptized in
Amy's home church. Fr. Don has
been dubbed "the baby whis-
perer" as he was able to avert
any crying by Sara during the sac-
rament. Unfortunately, this gift
was not present during the nup-
tials of her parents in March
2010. Sara's mother was seen in
tears throughout the wedding
ceremony. Guess it only works
on babies…
Thank you Fr. Don and St.
Luke's family! -The Bouchard’s

DEACON’S CORNER, BY PHYLLIS DOTY
Cuba Update: The city of Matanzas survived the hurricane with only heavy rain. Of course, the church was flooded, but there was no other damage. Baby Sara is now 1 month old and Mtr. Tulia is recuperating well from the caesarian section and will be able to conduct the services at Fieles A Jesus in September. After the presenta-tion about our trip to Cuba, Glenn and Andy sold rosaries they had made and gave all the proceeds to Mtr. Tulia. We were able to send her $105 the next day by Western Union. My hopes for future relations with Fieles A
Jesus include sending Mtr. Tulia at least $30 a month to augment her salary and more that she can use for her discretionary fund. If you would like to contribute to that financial aid, please put your check in the Sunday offering and designate it for CUBA.
English Classes: Classes will start on Sept.10 and will be held
every Monday and Thursday nights until Decem-
ber. If you would like to help host the classes
with refreshments, please let Deacon Phyllis
know. Thanks so much for all your support for
these classes.
LIFE LINE SCREENING St. Luke's will host a Life Line screening on Tuesday, October 9th. You need to pre-register for the testing. They are offering a $10 gift to St. Luke's and to each participant when you call or FAX to the designated numbers. See the bulletin board in the Parish Hall and handouts are on the table inside the front door.
