Stewardship “Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed...He told them,

‘Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose I have come.’”

—Mark 1:35, 38 In today’s Gospel reading we see a perfect example of stewardship. Jesus gives His time to do all that God wishes—healing the sick and preaching. But before He begins, Jesus makes time to be alone with God in prayer. It is through prayer, spending time with God, that we find the strength to do what He wishes us to do. Be sure to find time to be with God.

Bless me and my work today,

Loving and gracious God.

Help me stay focused on my tasks, Remembering that each detail

Is important to someone.

Let me share in moments of joy, Be a comfort in times of sorrow,

And see your handiwork in every occasion.

May I be patient with everyone, Kind, courteous and respectful Of all requests made of me.

Sustain me by the prayers of the saints,

Guide me in my every duty.

Strengthen me with your grace, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,

Now and forever.

Amen.

LOVE IN OUR WORK

In the Gospel today, we find that Jesus would rise very early before dawn and go to a deserted place to pray, and then he went out to preach and to heal.

Please pray for the poor and suffering, knowing that you are bringing the love and peace of Jesus to those who live in fear and doubt, loneliness and dread.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you.

Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. John 14:27

PLEASE NOTE: We can only accept GENTLY used clothing, linens or shoes in our St. Vincent de Paul collection boxes. Please place items, securely bagged, INSIDE the boxes. Please don’t put glass items in the boxes. No household items. THANK YOU. ****IF THE BOXES ARE FULL, PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ITEMS OUTSIDE OF THE BOXES. IF IT RAINS ETC.
