AN ORDINANCE AS ADOPTED An ordinance authorizing the Mayor to contract a .loan of ($12,- 00.00) Twelve hundred dollars with the Merchants & Farmers Bank of Melville, La, for the following 1 purposes: Of paying all outstanding indebt- edness of the town of Melville, La., and providing for the payment of the same. by anticipating the ex- cess of the city's revenues, over and above the necesesary, usual and statutory charges. See. 1. Be it drdained by the May- or and Board of Aldermen of- the town of Melville, That in view of ithe pressing necessity_ for the pay- inc of utstading bilis by the Tonof Melvil, tati Vi .. Merchants & Farmers Bank of Melville, the sum of Twelve hun- dred dollars ($1200.00) and to rep- resent which he 'is further author- ized to execute by and on be half of the Town of Melville a promis- sory note in favor of said bank, payable January 15th, 1917, bearing eight per cent per annum interest from maturity until paid and to contain other usual clauses. Be it further ordained that in order to secure the payment of the said note in principal, interest and attorney's fees there is hereby dedicated, attributed and set apart all of the excess revenues of the municipality of Melville, over and above the usual customary and statutory charges of said munici- pality, such excess being, as per the budget of the year :1916, and which is hereby taken as the basis of the anticipation 'and dedication the sum of 1903. Pursuant to authority contained in an ordinance of the Police Jury of the Parish of St. Landry, of date the sixth day of June, 1916,1, F. Octave Pavy, President of said body, hereby give notice that an election will be held in the Second Road District of the Fourth Police Jury ,Ward of the Parish of St. Landry, on Tuesday, July 25th,, 1916, as set forth in the following, abstract of said ordinance: "Section One. Be it ordained, by the Police Jury of the parish of St. Landry, in lawful session convened: That an election shall be and is hereby called to be held in the Sec- ond Road District of the Fourth Police Jury Ward of the .Parish of $t. Landry, on the 25th" day of July, A. D. 1916,at which election the majority iof the property taxpay- ers of th'e said Second Road Dis- trict of said Fourth Police. Jury Ward of St. Landry parish, in num- ber and amount eligible to vote and vbting at said election, shall de- termine the propositions: First.
