THE FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION is moved to Monday, December 9th this year. It is NOT A HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION in 2019. There will be two Masses. One at 9:00 a.m. and another at 7:00 p.m.
ALTAR-ROSARY BAKE AND CRAFT SALE: Bakers and crafters, get your wares and goodies ready for our Christmas Bake and Craft sale to support our parish’s altar needs (such as candles, wine, altar bread, decorations and flowers). Sale will be in the Hall after all the weekend Masses on December 7th & 8th.
THE GIVING TREE: The tags are available in baskets on the altar rail on both sides of the church. Parishioners are encouraged to take as many tags as they would like and shop for the person listed on the tag. All gifts are due back UNWRAPPED by Sunday, December 15. Volunteers are needed at the Parish Hall following the 11:15 a.m. Mass on the 15th to help sort the gifts. This year we are sponsoring quite a few entire families for Christmas as well as 10 individual children and 25 adults with disabilities. Thank you for your generosity in helping these families and individuals at Christmas.
GIVE CATHOLIC ON GIVING TUESDAY! TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3 is Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving back online, and the Diocese of Columbus is asking you to Give Catholic! Parishes, schools and charitable ministries in our Diocese are hoping to engage donors and raise funds to continue their great work of sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Visit columbus.igivecatholic.org any time through December 3rd. You are able to donate directly to St. Joseph Parish!

THANKSGIVING DINNER GRATITUDE: Thank you to all who participated in the Thanksgiving dinner. Many hands went into a service that is very needed in our community. We are one of a very few in the Central Ohio area that still provide dinners on the actual holidays. Your time and talent have not gone unnoticed and have been an example to others. There have been people, old and young, who have never experienced a traditional holiday dinner until now. Again, on behalf of Christian services, we extend our heartfelt thanks.
CHRISTMAS DINNER: Christian Services will be serving Christmas Dinner December 25, from noon-1:30 p.m. This day requires many hands. Contact Lisa McKeivier, at 614-395-6146. Please leave a message. The dinner serves Pickaway County residents who have special needs, senior citizens, handicapped, unemployed, and those who are alone. Volunteers are needed from 8:00-11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-3.00 p.m. Old and young who have never experienced a traditional holiday dinner will find food and fellowship on this day. This is St. Joe’s 35th year serving Pickaway County. Don’t miss out on this wonderful day of Christmas with our fellow community members. Desserts are welcome.
HELP NEEDED: We are in desperate need of parishioners to help with prayer services at nursing homes. The residents at the nursing homes look forward to attending a religious service at their place of residence. These are the following nursing homes and times we need help. Circleville Post Acute (formerly Genesis Health Care Center), 1155 Atwater Avenue, 2nd Sunday at 2:00 p.m.; Pickaway Manor Care Center, 391 Clark Drive, 4th Sunday at 2:00 p.m.; Logan Elm Health Care, 370 Tarlton Road, 4th Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.; Brown Memorial Home, 158 E. Mound Street, 4th Sunday at 6:30 p.m. You would be helping people find their pages for songs to be sung, helping with the scripture readings and of course singing with the residents. We also need piano players. If you can help in any way, please call Mack at the Parish Office at 740-477-2549 or email him at [email protected].

It is one of longing, of yearning for a fulfillment that somehow lies beyond ourselves; for we long for the coming of the Lord. Your heart will discover the true meaning of Christmas as you help those who are suffering and poor to long for the coming of the Lord.
