American Flags for Memorial Day: Providing a flag on the graves of our veterans at all cemeteries in Clinton is a huge task for the Veteran’s Office. Their volunteers walk each cemetery looking for the special veteran flag holders and will place a flag at that grave. If you need a flag holder, call the Veteran’s Office at 978-365-4112. The Elks Lodge in Clinton will provide flags for Elks members and can be reached at 978-365-9866.
Please accept my heartfelt gratitude to all those who made my 50th anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood a most memorable event. A special thanks goes
to Sheila Flaherty for organizing, and to Mary Colombo, Janice Donahue, Ann Dziokonski, Alan Gage, Patsy Mollica, Judy Moyni-han, Ellen Turini, and Tammy VanBuren for attending to the many details that led to such a wonderful celebration. Thank you to all those who participated in the Mass in a special way: Bishop Robert McManus for his inspiring homily, Deacons David Vaillan-court, William Griffin, and George O’Connor, and the Concelebrat-ing Priests, especially Fr. Bill Sanders, Fr. Thirb Millott and Fr Joseph Nally; Seminarian Victor Henao, Judy Moynihan, David Dunn, Pam Cross, Thomas Noonan, Joe Blette, the Altar Servers, Bobby Gibbons, Anna and Matthew Ward; and the St. John’s Unity Choir & Youth Unity Choir directed by Patsy Mollica and the Cantora Hispano directed by Rosa Batista. Also, thank you to the Robert J. McNally family for the beautiful prayer cards, to David Dunn and Co. for printing the programs and to Jocelyn Lucier for photographing the celebration. The reception at the Elks was a great success due to the music provided by Alan Gage, a delicious and plentiful luncheon by Tom Turini, and the most delectable desserts provided by the Hiber-nians. The floral center pieces by Varise were lovely; I am so happy to know that they were then enjoyed by the residents at Corcoran House and the patients at Clinton Hospital. I can’t thank everyone enough!!! Last, but not least, thank you to all the parish-ioners of St. John’s and my former parishes where I was Pastor, the members of the Class of 1960 and, of course, my family for celebrating with me on this special day. I am honored and so appreciative of the efforts of all these individuals who contributed to this wonderful memorable day. Prayers and Blessings, Fr. Ray
Thank you to all the parishioners for your support of the Mother's Day Rose Sale. Because of your generosity we were able to raise $1,175 for Problem Pregnancy, the all-volunteer Agency that supports women during their preg-
nancy. Thank you also to the volunteers who worked hard to make this fundraiser so successful. God Bless you and your fami-lies.
Divine Mercy Cenacle The Divine Mercy Cenacle meets weekly in the St. John's Parish Center on Tuesday evening at 7:00 for prayer and discussion of Scripture, the Catechism, and the Diary of St. Faustina. Our prayer group welcomes new members any-time. If you would like to know more about our Cenacle, please call Bill or Sue Belfield 508-869-0508.
We also maintain a prayer line to pray for those who are seriously ill or dying. Prayer requests can be submitted by phone 978-733-0090 or by e-mail [email protected]. After a prayer request is submitted, it is sent immediately to members of our group. Cenacle members pray the Chap-let of Divine Mercy for the seriously ill or dying.
Dear Friends, This Monday, Memorial Day, we remember and salute the men and women who served our country and who now rest in peace. We remem-ber particular people like a family member, a friend, a neighbor or simply a fellow citizen who gave of their time and ability to protect our land and the cause of peace throughout the world. We pray that they may now be enjoying a peace that is everlasting. We thank God for them and for all the veterans who are with us now and for the sacrifices they have made and are still making as they serve at home and in troubling places. In many ways we are all soldiers, defenders of peace and advocates and messengers of Our Lord to each other, to our neighborhood and our community. Let us on Memorial Day and every-day ask Our Lord to bless our veterans and each other as we bring peace, care and strength to each other. As the hymn states, ‘let there be Peace on Earth and let it begin with me.’
~ Many Blessings, Father Nally

Medjugorje Message to the World April 25, 2019
“Dear children! This is a time of grace, a time of mercy for each of you. Little children, do not permitthat the wind of hatred and peacelessness rule in you and around you. You, little children, are called to be love and prayer. The devil wants peacelessness and disorder, but you, little children, be the joy of the risen Jesus who died and resurrected for each of you. He conquered death to give you life, eternal life. Therefore, little children, witness and be proud that you have resurrected in Him. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, In his message for the 2019 World Communications Day, Pope Francis has chosen a theme which asks that we em-phasize the value of interaction, and seek dialogue as an opportunity to encounter others. This calls for acknowledg-ing that, through social media, we are part of a community where we must be participants. On the weekend of June 2, our Diocese will take up a collection for the Catholic Communication Campaign(CCC). This national collection helps bring the Gospel message to the public square in all forms of media so that all can know the love of God and help make this a better world. As Pope Francis wrote in this year’s Communications Message, “God is not Solitude, but Communion; he is Love, and therefore communication, because love always communi-cates; indeed, it communicates itself in order to encounter the other." Faithful and honest communication about the life of our Catholic Community is at the service of our evan-gelizing mission, whereby we encounter others so that we may give witness to God’s love as the true path to eternal happiness. As people continue to access more information on mo-bile devices and feel overwhelmed by so much noise, there is an increased need to provide faith resources on these platforms as well. With your support of the CCC, the daily readings and seasonal reflections are available as free pod-casts to download and listen to at any time, or to read from our diocesan and parish websites along with watching local Masses and program, as well as reading local and na-tional Catholic news stories. Thanks to your donations, Catholics are able to stay connected to their parish and to their Catholic faith even when they are traveling or not regularly at Mass. Roughly half of the funds collected will remain here in
the Diocese to help us support parish-centered com-munications in collaboration with diocesan programs. The remainder funds national media relations and communications efforts as well as international pro-jects in developing countries. For more information about the collection and the projects it supports, visit www.usccb.org/ccc. We must rely on your financial support of this collec-tion in order to truly heed the words of Pope Francis, “As sons and daughters of God, we are called to com-municate with everyone, without exception.” Please accept my thanks for reflecting on how you can help. With every prayerful best wish, I remain Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Robert J. McManus

QUERIDA COMUNIDAD HISPANA
P. Henry Ramirez
