Your dollars can go either to the State of Arizona or to support Catho-lic education through CTSO. Up to $1,089 filing single or $2,177 married filing together. Brochures are in the vestibule or visit www.ctso-tucson.org for online giving. Make your contribution by April 15, 2018 for the 2017 tax year.

A note for you:
Some non-Catholic Christians say it is wrong to bap-tize children. They say a person should be old enough to be able to make a personal commitment to Jesus before being baptized. But the Catholic Church and many other churches – Eastern Orthodox, Angli-can, Lutheran, Congregational, Methodist, Presbyteri-an, some Nazarenes, and Moravians - do baptize ba-bies. In the New Testament, John 3:5 Jesus says: “No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born again of water and the Spirit.” In the Acts of the Apos-tles we are told that Paul baptized entire families (Acts 16:15; Acts 16:31-33). These parts of Scripture and others seem to indicate children need baptism and were baptized. History also shows that in the very early times of the Church they were already baptizing children. In the writings of many early Fathers of the Church during the years 100 and 200, they mention the custom of baptizing children. By the year 400, St Augustine said that baptism of children was the universal practice of the Church. Therefore, we Catholics and many other Churches believe that the practice of baptizing chil-dren is legitimate and valid.
Una nota para ti: Algunos cristianos no católicos dicen que no debemos bautizar a los niños. Dicen que la persona debe tener edad suficiente para poder hacer un compromiso per-sonal con Jesús antes de ser bautizado. Pero la Igle-sia Católica y muchas otras iglesias - Ortodoxas Orientales, Anglicanas, Luteranas, Congregacionales, Metodistas, Presbiterianas, algunas Nazarenas y Mo-ravias - bautizan bebés. En el Nuevo Testamento, Juan 3: 5, Jesús dice: "Nadie puede entrar en el reino de Dios sin haber na-cido de nuevo del agua y el Espíritu". En los Hechos de los Apóstoles se nos dice que Pablo bautizó a fa-milias enteras (Hechos 16:15; Hechos 16:31-33). Es-tas partes de la Escritura y otras parecen indicar que, los niños necesitan bautismo y fueron bautizados. La historia también muestra que en los primeros tiem-pos de la Iglesia ya estaban bautizando a los niños. En los escritos de muchos de los primeros Padres de la Iglesia durante los años 100 y 200, mencionan la costumbre de bautizar a los niños. Para el año 400, San Agustín dijo que el bautismo de niños era la prác-tica universal de la Iglesia. Debido a estos testigos, nosotros católicos y muchas otras iglesias creemos que la práctica de bautizar a los niños es legítima y válida.
