SACRAMENTS OF RECONCILIATION & FIRST EUCHARIST

Students in Grade 2 and higher are asked to register for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist. One registration enrolls them for both. Information packages including registration forms can be found at both entrances of the church, at the parish office or on-line through our parish website www.stjeromeparishssm.com Registrations are due by October 31, 2019. A copy of the candidates baptismal certificate is required if candidate has not been baptized at St. Jerome Parish.

HOSPITALITY HELPERS The hospitality team is looking for people to assist with serving refreshments after the 11:00 am Mass

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD By packing shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items and school supplies, children in some of the most destitute parts of the world see in a tangible way, that people around the world love them and that God is present in their lives. Help a child by packing a shoebox - located in the north entrance of the church. JOB POSTING - ST. JEROME PARISH SECRETARY We are seeking a parish secretary to work Tuesday to Thursday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (7 hours) and Friday 8:30 am - 12:00 pm (3.5 hours). Main responsibilities include bulletin production, bookkeeping, Mass Intention management and other clerical duties. Training will be provided. Computer skills a must. Employment is based on a one year renewable contract. For further details, please contact the parish office. Three references and a police check are required. Deadline for resumes is Nov. 8, 2019 and can be submitted by email to [email protected] Kerry plans to retire Dec. 31, spend some time on the west coast with family before welcoming a new grand baby in Ottawa, spring of 2020.

PRAYERS FOR CANDIDATES Confirmation candidates have begun their preparation for this Sacrament to be celebrated November 21. As they continue to progress in their spiritual lives, we ask that you please keep them in your prayers.

R.A.P. (REFUGEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM) Our community continues to welcome new families who have had to flee war in their home countries. They are currently displaced in countries of refuge where they are unwelcome and receive little if any support. R.A.P. at Sault Community Career Centre provides settlement assistance to government-sponsored refugees. Brenda Cooper (coordinator of volunteers) is searching for other volunteers to walk with the newcomer families and help them adjust to the new culture they find in Canada.
