OUR LENTEN SACRIFICE DAYS OF ABSTINENCE -

Ash Wednesday, all Fridays in

Lent, and Good Friday for all who

have reached their 14th birthday,

no meat can be taken.

DAYS OF FAST - Ash

Wednesday and Good Friday for

all who have reached their 18th

birthday and have not as yet

reached their 60th birthday, a limit

of one full meatless meal.

WEEKDAYS OF LENT - No

obligation to fast, however,

voluntary acts of self-denial are

recommended.

EASTER DUTY OBLIGATION -

Must be made from the First

Sunday in Lent (Mar 5) through

Trinity Sunday (Jun 11).

SELF DENIAL – Is encouraged on

a voluntary basis. Acts may

include Daily Mass, spiritual study,

Lenten Devotions, the Rosary,

Stations of the Cross and deeds of

mercy and kindness.

We have some date changes to note for March.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GRADE LITURGY (Note date change)

Sunday, March 5th there will be a Buddy

Liturgy for grades 5 – 7 at the 11am Mass.

We will present the opportunity to start an Edge Program at St. James during this

service.

We would love to have a couple parents

volunteer to coordinate this dynamic program.

It is a great way to strengthen faith and

community for this age group.

If any parents would be interested, please

feel free to contact me for further details.

FISH FRY DATE CHANGE

Fish Fry will be Friday, March 10th

Hubbard Hall, Cazenovia College.

5 – 7pm.

We will not be asking for baked goods this

year but are in need of auction items.

Please consider donating gift cards for

restaurants, stores, and especially Cazenovia

shops. We can also use movie gift cards and

scratch off cards.

We will be putting

together fun baskets

for movie nights,

coffee and tea, wine,

lottery tree, and

anything else you are able to donate.

Monetary donations will go towards the

purchase of electronic items.

Eat in or Take Out! Great food and fun for

everyone!

All proceeds help our Faith Formation and

youth programs. Thanks so much!

for dinner before going.

!Congratulations to all of our 2nd Grade Faith Formation students who received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. I am super proud of all of you and your parents for working so hard and being so committed to the faith and this Parish. Lenten Soup Suppers - All are welcome to join us for Soup Suppers beginning on Wednesday, March 8th at 5:30pm. Homemade soups along with bread and butter and drinks will be offered. Immediately following supper, Fr. David McCallum will host a Lenten Retreat, “With Jesus in the Wilderness.” This retreat will be held over the three Wednesdays (March 8, 15, 22) in conjunction with the Soup Suppers. Fr. David will facilitate a workshop style that combines talks, journal questions, and contemplative exercises. Each evening will begin by 6:50pm and conclude by 8:30pm.
