The Record of John O1 This is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? And he confessed and denied not, and said plainly, I am not the Christ.
2 And they asked him, What art thou then? Art thou Elias? And he said, I am not. Art thou the prophet? And he answered, No.

Deck the Hall, Phase 4, Window Appeal succeeds Rejoice! This appeal has been an outstanding success and we now have funds to replace the eight windows in the hall and the music space under it*. These fine wooden windows will replicate the appearance of the 1897 windows, but have modern energy efficiency. All of the windows have been donated by parishioners or old friends of the parish and most will be dedicated to the memory of loved ones. One of the large windows will be a memorial to Joyce McCulloch, parishioner and lifelong warrior for the built heritage of Nova Scotia. Saving the hall from demolition was one of Joyce's last battles. Thank you everyone who helped, especially Oriel MacLennan. The appeal is over. Thanks be to God.
-Anne West
*These windows are not part of the Music Room Appeal
The building committee would like to offer our very sincere thanks to Anne West for her tireless and persistent work in securing donors for the windows. Phase 4 of Deck the Hall: Windows, is a very large undertaking. Thanks to Anne, we are in a strong position to move on to other phases of Deck the Hall.

The Exhortation The Exhortation is appointed by the Prayer Book to be read a minimum of three times per year. Along with the Litany, an earlier version of the Exhortation was the first English language liturgy permitted for public use at the time of the Reformation in England. In this sense, it belongs to the Anglican way from its inception. Further thoughts on the readings: Advent 4A Christian in a state of grace has a right, as no other person has a right, to be in high spirits. Nowhere does the New Testament imply that there is a special sort of spirituality in moroseness and gloom; and gloom is least appropriate in those solemn duties which, more than any other, express our relations to and feelings towards the Source of our joy. The brighter public worship can be, the more Christian it is….
