6TH SUNDAY OF EASTER · May 6, 2018
Dear Friends in Christ, Last weekend, the St. Francis PEACE Corp coordinated a lasagna bake with volunteers from our community. This endeavor was meant to be of service as a parish to families within our community who lose a loved one, have a serious illness, birth of a child, etc. We would like to let people know about this so that if there is something that comes up with a member of our parish family we can respond accordingly. Please note that this is a new endeavor that follows in a similar path to that of the “Martha Group” from many years ago. This endeavor is not designed to be for outreach to people in financial straits (we have other efforts that take care of these needs), nor is it for those who do not have genuine need. We are very grateful to all those who helped with this endeavor and are happy to announce that the first pan of lasagna was delivered already. We envision gathering a few times a year to cook various freezer meals and then to distribute them as needed. Please pray for the success of this project, consider joining your fellow parishioners for our next work day, and/or contribute to the fund that will be used to sponsor this activity. We welcome the newly baptized and pray for the parents who are the first teachers of their children in the ways of faith: Reid Xavier Heinen, son of Jared & Kimberly Heinen, was born January 11, 2018, and baptized on April 29, 2018; Cora Lily Tighe, daughter of Edward & Sarah Tighe, was born November 6, 2017, and baptized on April 29, 2018; and Kolton John Janata, son of Jason & Stacey Janata, was born January 26, 2018, and baptized on April 29, 2018. Tis the season for celebraons
and recognions! The grade
school spring concert will be
held this Tuesday, May 8, in
the gym starng at 6:30 PM.
All are welcome to a6end. �
This Thursday, May 10, on the
Feast of the Ascension of our
Lord, students will a6end the holy day of obligaon
Mass at 8am in the church. On the evening of the 10th
,
we will celebrate the accomplishments of our high
school students at the Achievement Banquet. On
Friday, the elementary students will celebrate their
hard work and many hours of reading with the AR store
and party held in the gym.�

*The family of Mary Ellen Zach would like to thank all of
our friends and family and the en?re community of
Humphrey for your love, prayers and support while mom
lived at Meridian and since her death.�
Mom loved Humphrey and was proud of the church and
school. Even in her last months, living with Alzheimer’s, she
oEen brought up her friends, the parish bazaar, the
holidays and the special Masses during those ?mes. She
loved her family more than anything and her parish family
as well. �
Special thanks to Fr. Pat McLaughlin for your support and
healing words. Thank you to Fr. Pat, Fr. Wayne, Deacon
Dennis and Fr. Marcus Knecht for the services, Lois Thalken
and Ann Denkinger for the beau?ful music, and the ladies
of our parish for the delicious lunch. Thank you also to
Gary Sharman of Duesman Funeral for your guidance and
in helping us to say goodbye to our mother.�
In lieu of thank yous, a Mass of thanksgiving will be said at
St. Francis from the family of Mary Ellen Zach.�
Words can never tell the depth of our parents’ love for
Humphrey and how happy they were to see it grow and
thrive. Humphrey truly is a wonderful place to live.�

parish hall on Sunday, May 20, at 2 PM. Deacon Omar
Guerrez will tell the story of the discoveries under
the Eternal City, discoveries that help us be6er under�
stand our faith and why we are called to share it. �
PARISH BAZAAR COMMITTEES � PLEASE HELP�
We are looking for two people to join the Bazaar
Games Commi<ee. If you would like to volunteer, or

We are also in need of four or five couples to serve
as dinner chairmen for the 2019 Bazaar. If you are
willing to help, please contact Lisa Krings at the parish

sooner you get involved in this year’s planning the
easier it will be for you in 2019.�
