Conall Hughes hails from Connecticut and attended Franciscan University. He spent last year as a missionary at Damascus. We are blessed to have him join us as we navigate these crazy times and bring more souls to Christ. I think you will be drawn to Conall’s humility, holiness and enthusiasm. He hopes to meet all of you and learn about our mission at St. Francis de Sales. Join me in welcoming Conall to our St. Francis family!

RCIA: Be a Disciple Maker!Last year, 37 people joined our family through RCIA, among the largest groups in the diocese. Amazingly, this year, we expect even more people to be drawn to Jesus! To meet the demand, we are building a team of faithful, flawed, and festive men and women who will courageously answer the call to “make disciples of all nations.” Our RCIA program welcomes dozens of Newark folks and encourages them as they learn more about our Church, and prepare to enter into our family. This is possible because of the witness and service of our RCIA team - would you consider joining? God is inviting all of us to be disciples and disciple makers, and nothing prepares us for this mission like helping others come into the Church. Contact Theresa DeMers or Tina Burtch for more information. This could be the next step in your relationship with Jesus!
St. Francis de Sales Prayer WarriorsWe have a new email address specifically for prayer requests
and a new coordinator in Lynn Richardson! Send an email to [email protected] and your prayer request will be included in our prayer chain. Of course, you may continue to phone prayer requests into the office – we want it to be easy and comfortable for you to reach us!
Our prayer chain has been incorporated into flocknotes; you can join the Prayer Warriors thru the parish flocknote site, or send an email to [email protected] and we’ll add you – please specify if you want notified by email or text (include cell phone number). Once you are a member, you will receive prayer requests that have been submitted by your fellow parishioners. Please join us as we pray for each other. We thank Sue Feasel for her years of service in this ministry – among the most powerful of ministries we have available! Sue took it from a strictly phone tree process to the digital world via emails, and most recently to Flocknotes. Sue, we are so grateful to you and pray you will be blessed as you focus on your passion for education of young souls.
St. Francis de Sales DirectoryThe 2020-2021 St. Francis de Sales Parish Directory is now being updated and will be ready for publishing this September.
Advertisers: Anyone interested in placing an advertisement for their business, or a personal message in support of our new directory should call Jake Allport at 248-545-4330 or email him at [email protected]. A business card can be used in creating a new ad. This is a great way for parishioners to promote their (small or large) businesses, however advertisers do not need to be members of our church, so feel free to pass this information along to others.
Parishioners: Any parishioners wishing to update personal information, or to opt out of the directory should call the Parish Office with details.
“St. Francis is so much more than a school; it’s a close knit community where families and educators come together in Christ. Students receive a top level education that is faith based with an emphasis on building strong morals. Academic excellence is recognized alongside acts of kindness, charity and gentleness. Strong friendships are forged and lasting as the students are together from K-8th in an inclusive environment. St. Francis’ leadership is always striving to improve and is never complacent. There are a plethora of enrichment activities and sports in which to choose. When it comes to school spirit, St. Francis can’t be outdone!”
–-Lindsay Englefield
