"Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. But of that day or hour, no one

knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." - Mark 13: 30-32

Thursday, Nov. 22 - Thanksgiving Day Mass at 8:30 a.m. the North Church, followed by the SFB Turkey Trot. (See pg. 4 for Turkey Trot details.) Saturday, Dec. 8 - Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. (Holy Day of Obligation) Masses at the North Church on Fri. Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. and Sat. Dec. 8 at 8 a.m. Annual Cookie and Bake Sale Christmas is coming up quickly - and so is the St. Francis Borgia Women's Guild Annual Cookie & Bake Sale! Mark your calendars for the weekend of Dec. 1-2 and check your cookbooks for delicious recipes. Please bake and donate your goodies to help the Guild raise money to help others. Not a baker? Then we hope you’ll plan to attend the Bake Sale and pick up some holiday treats. We don't like to brag, but we have some excellent bak-ers in our parish! The Women's Guild is self-sustaining and generously gives back to the community through a wide variety of donations benefiting families, women and children. Your assistance in supporting our work is greatly appreciated. Holy Hours of Reparation Every Monday morning from 6-7 a.m. there will be a Holy Hour of prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament in the North Church. During this Holy Hour prayers of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be offered. These hours of prayer will con-tinue every Monday morning until Christmas. As Jesus said to His apostles in the Garden of Gethsemane during the night of His passion, “Could you not watch one hour with me?” This fall, spend one hour with Jesus before you start your week.

Open Gym/Tot Time Beginning in November, Open Gym/Tot Time will resume at St. Francis Borgia School. Mark your calendars now! Dates for the 2018-19 school year are: Fridays, Nov. 16, Dec. 14, Jan. 11, Feb. 8, Mar. 8 and Apr. 12. (Please note: If SFB School is canceled due to weather, there will be no open gym.) There is no cost to attend. Parents and guardians are invited to bring their young chil-dren for an informal open gym time in the St. Francis Borgia School gym, from 8:45-10 a.m. on the above Fridays. At 10 a.m. the group will move to the Sports Lobby for a small snack and simple craft. This is a great chance to meet other families from our parish and school community - and let your little ones run around and work off some of their excess energy! Questions? Please contact Stephanie Dailey at 414-491-0111 or [email protected].

Prayers for our parish family

Baptized in Christ Patrick Lochen

Died in Christ Virginia Altenbach, age 90

Owen Haydn Owens, age 89

Please pray for our fellow parishioners

Please call the parish office with your requests for parish-ioners who are ill or in need of prayers to be published in the bulletin - both the printed and online versions. Privacy laws require that all requests be initiated by a member of the imme-diate family. Names will be published in a total of 12 bulletins (about three months). If at the end of that time, the person wishes to remain on the list, he/she will need to call the parish office and share that request. The bulletin prayer list only includes the names of parish-ioners. Names of non-parishioners, friends and neighbors can be added to our prayer chain. To be added to the list, please contact Katie in the parish office at 262-377-1070, ext. 221 or [email protected].

A prayer for those who are ill God our Father, we bring before you today those who suf-fer from illness or disability - those whose lives are profoundly affected by their illness. When they feel fragile and broken, remind them that you call them by name and hold them in the palm of your hand. When they feel devalued, remind them that they are made in the image Jesus. When they are reminded of different times in the past, lead them to grow in the faith that you love them today, as they are, in the reality of their lives this day. When they feel uncertain and fearful about the future, lead them to that perfect love which casts out all fear. When situations remind them not of what they can do, but

of what they cannot do, remind them that love never fails. May all of us, whatever our circumstances, never be so taken up with our own concerns that we do not see or respond to the

needs of others, especially those who suffer in our midst. May we live with courage to respond to the challenges that each of us faces. Amen.

Parish directory photos Everyone is invited to have their picture included in the upcoming parish directory. With a parish of our size, finding a convenient time for yourself and/or your family can be diffi-cult. We truly understand that. But, you are able to have your photo taken at a nearby par-ish if those days/times work better. Please call Lifetouch at 1-866-756-0281 to see what options are available. For example: St. Mary's in Menomonee Falls are doing pictures from Nov. 26 through Dec. 11. AND, you will still get a free 8 x 10” photo and a parish directory! If you are having your photo taken at St. Francis Borgia, remember that you will receive $5 off any pictures you may choose to purchase if you donate an item for the House of Peace. Requested items are men’s underwear, along with socks, gloves and hats of any size/gender. Bring the item(s) with you on the day you have your pictures taken.

Directory volunteers needed Are you able to volunteer a couple of hours to assist with check-in for those having photos taken for the parish direc-tory? If so, please contact Mary Aschenbrener at 262-376-9992 or [email protected]. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Turkey Trot The 10th Annual Turkey Trot will take place on Thursday, Nov. 22 following the Thanksgiving Day Mass. Mass will be cele- brated at 8:30 a.m. at the North Church, followed by a 10 a.m. Turkey Trot start from the Education & Activity Center! As always, we will have coffee, hot chocolate and Thanksgiving treats in the school gym following the Trot. Online registration is OPEN!! To register for the run or walk, go to https://goo.gl/qd8T7H. If you are interested in donating baked goods or assisting with the walk or run courses on Thanksgiving morning, please sign up using the links below or contact Kathy Ruzicka at 414-630-1533 or [email protected]. Volunteers: https://goo.gl/mFEbkm Bakers: https://goo.gl/AdFkrE (We hope to provide enough baked goods for the meal program at St. Ben’s for the whole Thanksgiving weekend. So please consider helping us out if you are able.) Give thanks for all you’ve got, then do the Trot!!

Child Ministry

Sunday morning programming

K3, K4, K5 classes Programming for our prekindergarten young- sters takes place three Sundays of each month during the 10 a.m. Mass from October through March. The children gather in the church hall classrooms. The program is totally Catholic with developmentally ap-propriate curriculum at each age level. Having children participate in this program offers parents an opportunity to reflect more fully on the Sunday Scriptures and the homily. The sessions are open to all K3, K4 and K5 children. St. Francis Borgia School students are also invited to join us. There are still some openings at all age levels. To register, contact Chris Crom at [email protected] or 262-377-1070, ext. 226.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word (please note date changes!) Children from ages K4 through Grade 3 are invited to partici-pate in an opportunity to hear the Sunday scriptures in child-friendly language. Children’s Liturgy of the Word will be offered on the 4th and 5th Sunday (if there is a 5th Sunday) of the month during the 10 a.m. Mass in the church hall. Contact Chris Crom at [email protected] or 262-377-1070, ext. 226 if you have questions about this program.
