St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council 11382 volume 23 issue 12 June 2019 page 1 The Holy Spirit is with us! As we celebrate the Ascension of our Lord and await Pentecost, our faith challenges us to put the fruits of the Holy Spirit to work. A key theme at Mass this weekend is that we must choose to take the gift of the Spirit and apply it to our daily lives. That direction fits our purpose as Knights so well! As society devalues religion and celebrates individual gratification, we remain a counter- cultural force and serve as examples to our friends and families. Though some may choose to make Mass attendance optional during the summer, we model to our children and grandchildren by faithfully keeping our Catholic identity all year long … even on vacation. While many focus their lives on secular pursuits, we prioritize the practice of our Catholic faith through prayer and works of service. In the weeks ahead, I ask you and your family to keep up the good work. As shown on our website, we have many ways to serve including grilling at the seminary , cooking at our parish carnival, helping to raise funds for Seedbearers by working and playing in our Cornhole tournament, and gathering in our chapel on June 17 th to pray for the sick in our parish. Please sign up as your help is needed for these many events. Thank you for being an example to me and to all around us. I look forward to seeing you soon as we enjoy and serve our parish.
