LENTEN BIBLE STUDY:
THE MIRACULOUS IN THE BIBLE
Signs and wonders pepper the pages of the Bible andhave always fascinated believers. This program willexamine selected miracle stories both for their historicalbackground and for their meaning for believers today,
especially in helping us to see themiraculous in daily life. Sessionswill be held in the CupertinoCenter from 7 to 8:30 PM, onWednesdays fromuntil April 5.
Session IV: “ And immediatelythe leprosy left him.” (Mk 1) Jesus’ powerful words arecomplemented by miraculous doings in Mark’s gospel.
Session V: “This, the first of his signs, Jesus did inCana of Galilee…” (John 2) Signs, not miracles, inJohn’s gospel reveal much about Jesus, promote belief, yet are not sufficient for mature faith.
LENTEN EXERCISEFor about an hour on Wednesday mornings during Lent,we gather together after Mass and reflect on thereadings assigned for the Mass of the following Sunday. These readings have been assigned for thousands ofyears, and we reflect upon our needs for the truths theseancient stories proclaim. Come as you are and leavewith greater hope in the truths we need. On March 29and April 5, come and see what the Church teaches.Refreshments will be served. Bring a friend.
