LENTEN MISSIONS

We invite everyone to save the date and join us in the Lenten Missions that will take place daily from March 30th through April 1st. from 7pm to 8pm in the Parish Center Dr. Timothy Crehan, a member of the Theology Department of Immaculate Heart High School, will speak at our Parish Lenten Mission . His topics will include examining favorite Biblical stories from a Lenten viewpoint A Lenten mission is held by the Parish each year during Lent. It is an opportunity to set aside specific time to pray, meditate and reflect, and most importantly, to do this as a parish community. The mission is a time of renewal of our relationship with God and each other. We also remind all of our ministries and groups that all meeting places will be closed during this period so that our entire parish communicate can focus and participate in the Lenten missions.

Invitamos a todos a guardar la fecha para que nos acompañen en las Misiones Cuaresmales que se llevarán a cabo diariamente desde el 30 de marzo al 1ro de abril, en la Iglesia después de la misa, de 7:30pm a 8:30pm El Diacono Gilberto Hernández será el orador, sus tópicos incluirán la Piedad como se encuentra en las parábolas. La parroquia lleva a cabo una misión cada año durante la Cuaresma. Es una oportunidad para reservar un tiempo específico para orar, meditar y reflexionar, y lo más importante, hacer esto como comunidad parroquial. La misión es un momento de renovación de nuestra relación con Dios y entre nosotros. También recordamos a todos nuestros ministerios y grupos que todos los lugares de reunión estarán cerrados durante este período para que toda la comunicación parroquial pueda enfocarse y participar en las misiones de cuaresma.

BILINGUAL PENANCE SERVICE FOR LENT

The Catholic Catechism teaches us that we must confess at least once a year on occasion of Lent. Following this doctrine, our parish gives us the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation this Friday, April 3rd at 7:00 p.m. The service will be bilingual in the church. Please plan to attend with your entire family.

SERVICIO PENITENCIAL DE CUARESMA BILINGÜE

El Catecismo Católico nos enseña que debemos confesarnos, por lo menos, una vez al año en ocasión de la Cuaresma. Siguiendo esta doctrina, nuestra parroquia nos da la oportunidad de celebrar el Sacramento de la Reconciliación este viernes 3 de abril a las 7:00 pm. El servicio será bilingüe en la iglesia. Participe con toda su familia.

C H R I S M M A S S / H O L Y- O I L S We invite our community to be part of the solemn celebration of the Chrism Mass presided by our Archbishop José H. Gomez. The Mass will be celebrated at The Cathedral of Los Angeles on Monday, April 6th at 6:00 p.m. It is recommended to arrive at The Cathedral no later than 5:00 pm to have a good seat and enjoy this beautiful celebration, the bishop, joined by the priests of the diocese, gather at the Cathedral to celebrate the Chrism Mass. If you have never attended, we invite you to go and enrich your faith with the solemn celebrations of our Catholic church, this Mass manifests the unity of the priests with their bishop Let's participate as a close community. That day, the Holy Oils that are used in the administration of the sacraments are blessed, consecrated and distributed. Let's participate as a parish community in the Cathedral!

La misa Crismal tendrá lugar es en la Catedral de Los Ángeles, el lunes 6th de abril, a las 6:00 pm. Se recomienda estar en la catedral, a más tardar, a las 5:00 pm, para lograr su adecuada ubicación dentro de la asamblea y nutrirse de esta hermosa celebración, esta misa manifiesta la unidad de los sacerdotes con su obispo. Si usted nunca ha asistido, le recomendamos participar y enriquecerse de esta rica liturgia. Ese día, se bendice, consagra y distribuye los Santos Oleos que se emplean en la administración de los sacramentos. ¡Participemos como comunidad parroquial en la Catedral!

2020 LENTEN MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS

The paschal mystery as the basis of conversion Christian joy flows from listening to, and accepting, the Good News of the death and resurrection of Jesus. This kerygma sums up the mystery of a love “so real, so true, so concrete, that it invites us to a relationship of openness and fruitful dialogue” (Christus Vivit, 117). Whoever believes this message rejects the lie that our life is ours to do with as we will. Rather, life is born of the love of God our Father, from his desire to grant us life in abundance (cf. Jn 10:10). If we listen instead to the tempting voice of the “father of lies” (Jn 8:44), we risk sinking into the abyss of absurdity, and experiencing hell here on earth, as all too many tragic events in the personal and collective human experience sadly bear witness. In this Lent of 2020, I would like to share with every Christian what I wrote to young people in the Apostolic Exhortation Christus Vivit: “Keep your eyes fixed on the outstretched arms of Christ crucified, let yourself be saved over and over again. And when you go to confess your sins, believe firmly in his mercy which frees you of your guilt. Contemplate his blood poured out with such great love and let yourself be cleansed by it. In this way, you can be reborn ever anew” (No. 123). Jesus’ Pasch is not a past event; rather, through the power of the Holy Spirit it is ever present, enabling us to see and touch with faith the flesh of Christ in those who suffer…

2020 MENSAJE DE CUARESMA DE SU

SANTIDAD PAPA FRANCISCO El Misterio pascual, fundamento de la conversión Un primer punto que destaca el Papa Francisco en su Mensaje es que, “la alegría del cristiano brota de la escucha y de la aceptación de la Buena Noticia de la muerte y resurrección de Jesús: el kerygma”. Quien cree en este anuncio, afirma el Pontífice, rechaza la mentira de pensar que somos nosotros quienes damos origen a nuestra vida, mientras que en realidad nace del amor de Dios Padre, de su voluntad de dar la vida en abundancia. En cambio, si preferimos escuchar la voz persuasiva del «padre de la mentira» corremos el riesgo de hundirnos en el abismo del sinsentido, experimentando el infierno ya aquí en la tierra, como lamentablemente nos testimonian muchos hechos dramáticos de la experiencia humana personal y colectiva. Por eso, en esta Cuaresma 2020, el Papa quiere dirigir a todos los cristianos lo que ya escribió a los jóvenes en la Exhortación Apostólica Christus vivit, es decir, mira los brazos abiertos de Cristo crucificado, déjate salvar una y otra vez, así podrás renacer, una y otra vez…
