These Centers provide assistance needed by women and their families who are confronted with the concerns and difficulties regarding the arrival of a new child. Bethesda House : a new calendar has been posted in the vestibule of the church for the dinners at Bethesda House, a transitory place for the homeless of the area. Every third Tuesday of the month our parish has committed to provide the dinner for TWENTY BIG (as in hungry) MEN. Three volunteers will be needed each month. Chicken is requested on the menu as well as fruit for dessert. When volunteering, please write your name and phone number on the calendar. More questions? Aquinas Guilbeau, O.P., is instructor in Moral Theology at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC. He holds a B.A. from St. Joseph Seminary College, an M.Div./M.A. from St. John’s Seminary, an S.T.L. from the Pontifical Gregorian University, and an S.T.D./Ph.D. from University of Friborg.

SEGUNDO DOMINGO DE PASCUA 23 DE ABRIL DE 2017 Cristo ha resucitado verdaderamente en su cuerpo, físicamente palpable. Es el triunfo de la misericordia del Señor que marca el estilo de vida en los cristianos. Por eso, celebramos el Domingo de la Divina Misericordia. La Misericordia del Señor se revela a los Apóstoles en la aparición del día de la Pascua. A su vez, los apóstoles han de ser portadores de la Misericordia del Señor que se prolonga en la Iglesia. Nosotros, también recibimos la misericordia del Señor y hemos de comunicarla. Los apóstoles tienen miedo a los judíos y asimismo se sienten avergonzados por haber dejado sólo al Maestro. Por eso, Cristo misericordioso sale a su encuentro para transmitir paz, Paz a vosotros, y confirmarlos en la certeza de la resurrección mostrando las llagas..

CAMBIOS EN LA SANTA MISA Actualmente se viene rezando el Rosario Dominical a las 4:45 pm para luego proceder a la Exposición y Adoración del Santísimo a las 5:15 pm., antes de la Santa Misa. Las confesiones seguirán a las 5:30 p.m. INTENCIONES DEL PAPA PARA ABRIL En abril, la intención de oración del Papa está dirigida a los “jóvenes, para que sepan responder con generosidad a su propia vocación; considerando seriamente también la posibilidad de consagrarse al Señor en el sacerdocio o en la vida consagrada”. DOMINGO DE LA DIVINA MISERICORDIA Hoy domingo es la fiesta de la Divina Misericordia. El mensaje y la devoción a Jesús como la Divina Misericordia está basada en los escritos de Santa Faustina Kowalska, que relatan las revelaciones que ella recibió sobre la Misericordia de Dios. El mensaje de Misericordia es que Dios nos ama a todos, no importa cuán grande sean nuestras faltas. Él quiere que reconozcamos que Su Misericordia es más grande que nuestros pecados. El primer elemento de la Devoción a la Divina Misericordia que fue revelado a la Hermana Faustina fue la Imagen, el 22 de Febrero del 1931. Jesús se le aparece con rayos de luz irradiando desde su Corazón y le dice: “Pinta una imagen según el modelo que ves, y firma: “Jesús, en Ti confío”. Deseo que esta imagen sea venerada primero en esta capilla y luego en el mundo entero." (Diario 47) Prometo que el alma que venere esta imagen no perecerá.” (Diario 48). Juan Pablo II canonizó a Santa Faustina el 30 de abril de 2000. Ese mismo día instituyó oficialmente la Fiesta de la Divina Misericordia, el segundo domingo después de la Pascua, tal como Jesús había pedido a Santa Faustina. [email protected] Baptisms—3rd Sunday of the month, appointment only. Parents are obliged to take a brief class related to the Sacrament prior to the Baptism. Class is held 1st Wednesday of the month. Registration is required. Call the Parish Office for more information. Weddings—Please contact one of the priests at least 6 months prior to anticipated wedding date. Pre-Cana and instruction are required. Sacrament of Reconciliation—Saturday, following 8.00 a.m. Mass, and 3:30-4:30 p.m.; Sunday, 5:15-5:45 p.m. (Español), or by appointment. RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) - The process of becoming a Catholic Christian. Call the Parish Office for information. Adult Choir—Weekly rehearsals on Wednesday, 8:00-10:00 p.m. Choir sings every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Mass. Pastoral Care of the Sick and Homebound—Please notify the Rectory Office if you know of any parishioner who is sick or homebound and who would like to receive Holy Eucharist or the Sacrament of the Sick so that we can arrange to take him/her the Eucharist or the Sacrament of the Sick. Note to New Parishioners—We extend to you a warm welcome from our Parish Community and encourage you to become active, involved members of the parish. Please obtain a registration form from the parish office, or from the Church vestibule.
