Learning Objective of the trip
Through working, playing and living together children will develop as
individuals, whilst increasing in team spirit.
Information of the Bowles Centre
• The Bowles centre specialises in adventurous outdoor learning for all ages.
• The centre offers the very best in team building, personal challenges and social activities.
• Bowles is a high quality outdoor education centre set alongside a stunning natural Sandstone Outcrop near Tunbridge Wells. It is based on the Kent/ Sussex border.

The centre fulfils the aims and objectives of the national curriculum
for Physical education at Key Stage 2.
Learning Objectives for Outdoor Education….
To plan prepare and undertake a journey safely, encompassing one or more activities in an unfamiliar environment
To develop own ideas by creating challenges for others
To develop techniques and safety procedures appropriate to the activities undertaken
The effects of nutrition and climatic conditions on the body, through activities undertaken.
Schedule
Monday 15th July
• Arrive at School at 8.55 am. Baggage to be dropped off in the school hall.
• Leave for Bowles at 10 am, arrive at 11am.
• Welcome, introduction, fire drill and site tour.

•Depart from Bowles at 2pm
•Arrive back to St Bartholomew’s at approximately 3pm.
You must be here to collect children on time.

• Three healthy, hot, home cooked meals a day
• ‘Family service’ – children serve themselves and each other
• Vending machines and tuck shop for drinks, snacks and souvenirs (only one sweet per day as part of Bowles’ healthy eating policy.)
• Children also clear up after themselves!
Clothing
• Long sleeved tops and trousers • Old clothes that can get dirty (trousers/t-shirts-)• T shirt/Shorts that can get wet• Waterproof jacket • Swimming gear and towel• Old trainers that can be used in water• Everyday trainers • Plenty of socks and underwear!• Sun cream and hat

• Be tolerant of and caring towards others
• Be polite and respectful to adults accompanying on the trip and at the centre
• Inappropriate language will not be tolerated
• Be responsible for their own behaviour and belongings.
