Dear Parents,
5 Ways to Wellbeing: Our Journals
All the children now have their own journal in school, in which they can express themselves freely. Each week, we are asking the children to record their response to a stimulus or
resource in words, pictures and doodles. This project will run for 6 weeks and is all part of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing project in Stamford schools. We are hoping it will really help the children learn how the 5 Ways
can help them understand and make sense of their feelings and keep their mental health nice and strong.
All Saints Liturgy by Grace and Pixie
On Monday, we had a collective worship about the feast of All Saints. We felt inspired that anyone could be a saint, even ourselves. We also played a guessing game about how many saints there are….turns out there are more than ten thousand! St. Francis used to be a wealthy man but he gave it up to commit to God. He was very motivated because he chose what God could give him instead of what he already owned. St. Damian lived on the island of Moloki in Hawaii. This amazing man helped to build schools, shelters and churches for the people. We also learned about St. Catherine of Siena. This amazing lady was a peacemaker. Although St. Catherine’s family did not approve of her, she pushed through and carried on sharing the good news and peace. Some of the children’s responses to the liturgy were, ‘The worship affected me by knowing how many good people there are in the world and there is always someone to help,’ and ‘I can help make peace like St. Catherine and I can help my friends.’
School council update: by Mr Hammond
The school councillors this week have been working extremely hard and worked very well helping out to make sure lunchtimes are more active and fun. Going through our 5 ways to wellbeing they have created some fantastic ideas for playground activities for KS2 to play and have done a superb job making sure school equipment is looked after and making sure everyone is having fun. An extra well done to the KS2 school councillors who are Jake, Ava, Rosie and Sonny. Amazing work School council!
