Saint Augustine is one of the oldest African American parishes in the United States,
located in the historic West Louisville in the Archdiocese since 1870. We are a spirit
filled, welcoming faith community that prides itself in sharing the good news with
all of God’s people. We give witness to the presence of God in the affirmation of our
leadership, ministries and outreach to the broader community from a family –
centered perspective.

WELCOME VISITORS, We are honored that you chose to worship with us today!
All who are not receiving Holy Communion are encouraged to express in their hearts a prayerful desire for unity with the Lord Jesus and with one another.
STEWARDSHIP
“It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Messiah of the Lord….‘Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word.’” Luke 2:26,29 The devout Simeon faithfully served the Lord into old age. Upon seeing the Christ child, he exclaimed to God that his life was fulfilled. We too encounter Christ, every day. Do we take the time to recognize those encounters and to thank God?

MARRIAGE AND PARENT POINTERS
Sunday is Ground Hog Day. It’s all about noticing how life gets played over and over. What traditions keep your love alive – a weekly date, repeating a special meal, revisiting a place that has meaning for you as a couple? Perhaps look through old photos for ideas. Feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, clothe the naked. Parents do this naturally in the course of raising their children. Good. Is it time to engage your own children in these works for other less for-tunate families? Challenge them to help.
