1st Sunday of Advent Dear Sisters and Brothers, After
Thanksgiving we know it is the end of November; and wintery air,
frost in the morning, and even snow can’t be a total surprise. We
just ended our liturgical year, with the Feast of Christ the King
of the Universe. The only missing part is, that we don’t see Jesus
face to face yet, so we cry out-
Come Lord Jesus!!! Now we will be using year B for our Sunday
cycle readings, with the Gospel of St Mark and starting theme of
Advent is the Second coming of Christ. His glorious coming is
awaited by all believers who long to experience full presence of
God in their lives. So the First Reading from the prophet Isaiah
puts almost pressure on God to come and manifest himself with power
and might, so as to turn people’s attention from selfish ways. The
prophet confesses our human need for God’s involvement in molding
“the work of your hands.” The Psalm continues that cry by stating:
“ Lord make us turn to you; let us see your face and we shall be
saved. “ If only God would show us his face than we would follow,
it almost makes God responsible for peoples response. Saint Paul‘s
approach to Christ is one of great faith. His full conviction of
Christ’s love and closeness leaves no room for doubt or
uncertainty. Paul knows, that Christ blessed us with all graces and
spiritual gifts, needed for us to wait for His coming. We are saved
by faith in Christ and nothing else matters, there is nothing that
would separate us from his love. In the Gospel of today, Jesus
invites us to watch and be alert for he is coming surely. Each one
is left in charge with “his own works”, to do the right thing. It
is encouraging, that Jesus is not putting any extra charges on our
shoulders, but tells us to do what was entrusted to us, and that
would be good enough preparation for his coming. Just peaceful
realization of our daily tasks and duties as believers, is a good
way to wait for Jesus coming. Often the thought of Christ 2nd
Coming causes anxiety, but, the end of times and his glorious
coming is to be a feast. It is the realization of our faith in its
fullness. It will be time of glory. After we accomplish our
vocation, our mission in this world, we are called to the feast of
heaven. Our life on earth is just but a preparation for that feast.
As apostle John says:“ perfect love casts away all fear “, because
it finds its rest in the One, that loved us first. So both
Apostles: John and Paul, emanate this same confidence of love,
because of their experience of it. Even though their experiences
were so different, yet they led them to this same confidence and
trust in God. John walking step by step with Jesus, and Paul
meeting the Risen Jesus and coming to know him mystically. St Paul
says in the letter to Corinthians : “love bears all things,
believes all things, hope all things, endures all things. Love
never ends”. So this is where our faith in Christ takes us. That
unconditional love of God, is the love that the Saints found in the
depths of their hearts, and this is what you and I need to learn
and acquire in our lives. This is the depth of faith we pray for.
This is what Advent moves us to hope for, and we perceive it, as we
see the works of God in our lives and in the life of the world.
Come Lord Jesus !!! Show us your face and we shall be saved. As we
see the change of colors in the church to purple, it is sign of our
humble disposition and expectation for salvation. We see our Giving
Tree ready for those who wish to share the joy of knowing Christ
with others. As we await for his coming, let us take his advice and
be about our daily business of life, doing well what was entrusted
to us, and that should bring us to the place of encounter with
coming Christ. Thank You for your generosity to our Parish and to
the needy in this time of Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas. Come

1er Domingo de Adviento
Queridas Hermanas y Hermanos,
Después del Dia de Acción de Gracias sabemos que estamos a
finales de
Noviembre; y el aire invernal, las heladas por la mañana e
incluso la nieve no
pueden ser una sorpresa total. Acabamos de terminar nuestro año
litúrgico, con la
Fiesta de Cristo Rey del Universo. La única parte que falta es
que todavía no
vemos a Jesús cara a cara, así que gritamos: ¡!! Ven, Señor
Jesús ¡!!
Ahora usaremos el año B para nuestras lecturas del ciclo
Dominical, con el Evangelio de San Marcos y comenzando
estas de Adviento es la Segunda Venida de Cristo. Todos los
creyentes que anhelan experimentar la plena presencia
de Dios en sus vidas esperan su venida gloriosa. Así que la
Primera Lectura del profeta Isaías casi presiona a Dios
para que venga y se manifieste con poder y fuerza, a fin de
desviar la atención de la gente de los caminos egoístas.
El profeta confiesa nuestra necesidad humana de que Dios se
involucre en moldear “la obra de tus manos”.
El Salmo continua ese clamor al afirmar: “Señor, haz que nos
volvamos a ti; déjanos ver tu cara y seremos salvos”.
Si tan solo Dios nos mostrara su rostro de lo que seguiríamos,
casi hace a Dios responsable de la respuesta de la
gente.
El acercamiento de San Pablo a Cristo es de gran fe. Su plena
convicción del amor y la cercanía de Cristo no deja
lugar a dudas o incertidumbres. Pablo sabe que Cristo nos
bendijo con todas las gracias y dones espirituales,
necesarios para que esperemos su venida. Somos salvos por la fe
en Cristo y nada mas importa, no hay nada que nos
separe de su amor.
En el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús nos invita a velar y estar alerta
porque seguramente vendrá. Cada uno se queda a
cargo de “sus propias obras”, para hacer lo correcto. Es
alentador que Jesús no este poniendo ningún cargo extra
sobre nuestros hombros, sino que nos diga que hagamos lo que se
nos ha encomendado, y eso seria una buena
preparación para su venida. La mera realización pacifica de
nuestras tareas y deberes diarios como creyentes es una
buena forma de esperar la venida de Jesús.
A menudo, el pensamiento de la segunda venida de Cristo causa
ansiedad, pero el fin de los tiempos y su gloriosa
venida será una fiesta. Es la realización de nuestra fe en su
plenitud. Sera tiempo de gloria. Después de cumplir
nuestra vocación, nuestra misión en este mundo, somos llamados a
la fiesta del cielo. Nuestra vida en la tierra no es
mas que una preparación para esa fiesta.
Como dice el Apóstol Juan” “el amor perfecto desecha todo
temor”, porque encuentra su reposo en Aquel que nos
amo primero. Entonces, ambos Apóstoles, Juan y Pablo, emanan
esta misma confianza de amor, debido a su
experiencia de el. A pesar de que sus experiencias fueron tan
diferentes, sin embargo, los llevaron a esta misma
confianza y confianza en Dios. Juan camina paso a paso con
Jesús, y Pablo se encuentra con Jesús resucitado y lo
conoce místicamente.
San Pablo dice en la carta a los Corintios: “El amor todo lo
soporta, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, El amor no tiene
fin”. Así que aquí es donde nos lleva nuestra fe en Cristo. Ese
amor incondicional de Dios, es el amor que los Santos
encontraron en lo mas profundo de sus corazones, y esto es lo
que tu y yo necesitamos aprender y adquirir en nuestra
vida. Esta es la profundidad de la fe por la que oramos. Esto es
lo que el Adviento nos impulsa a esperar, y lo
percibimos al ver las obras de Dios en nuestras vidas y en la
vida del mundo.
Ven Señor Jesús!!! Muéstranos tu rostro y seremos salvos.
Cuando vemos el cambio de colores en la Iglesia a purpura, es
una señal de nuestra humilde disposición y expectativa
de salvación. Vemos nuestro árbol generoso listo para aquellos
que deseen compartir el gozo de conocer a Cristo con
otros. Mientras esperamos su venida, tomemos su consejo y
estemos en nuestro quehacer diario de la vida, haciendo
bien lo que se nos ha confiado y que debe llevarnos al lugar del
encuentro con Cristo que viene.
Gracias por su generosidad con nuestra parroquia y con los
necesitados en este tiempo de Acción de Gracias,
Adviento y Navidad.
Ven Señor Jesús!!! Dios les bendiga a todos siempre!!!!

I Domingo de Adviento ANTIFONA DE ENTRADA
Cfr. Salmo 25(24), 1-3 A ti, Señor, levanto mi alma; / Dios mío,
en ti confío, no quede yo defraudado, / que no triunfen de mi mis
enemigos; / pues los que esperanen ti no quedan defraudados.
ORACION PARA INAGURAR LA CORONA DE ADVIENTO EN LA IGLESIA Y EN
CASA
Oremos. La tierra, Señor, se alegra en estos días, y tu Igleisia
desborda de gozo ante tu Hijo, el Señor, que se avecina como luz
esplendorosa, para iluminar a los que yacemos en las tinieblas de
la ignorancia, del dolor y del pecado. Llenos de esperanza en su
venida, tu pueblo ha preparado esta corona con ramos del bosque y
la adornado con luces. Ahora, pues, que vamos a empezar el tiempo
de preparación para la venida de tu Hijo, te pedimos, Señor, que,
mientras s acrecienta cada día el es-plendor de esta corona, con
nuevas luces, a nosostros nos ilumines con el esplendor de aquel
que, por ser la luz del mundo, iluminará todas las oscuridades. El
que vive y reina por los siglos de los siglos.
Amén.

! Il viendra. ! Soyons vigilants ! L’avent est un temps
d’attente et d’accueil, un temps qui nous invite à bâtir le Royaume
de Dieu. Comme la semaine dernière, Jésus lève le voile sur
l’avenir pour nous aider à vivre le présent, pour mieux nous
ramener à notre comportement de chrétiens. Nous devons rester
éveillés pour ne pas manquer sa venue. La lecture d’Isaïe nous
assure que Dieu sera reconnaissable quand il viendra. Dieu est venu
et il vient à nous encore chaque jour. Paul, lui, nous incite à
rendre grâce pour tous les dons que nous avons reçus. Il nous dit
d’être patients, de veiller. Ce que nous devons guetter, c’est le
jour où un
nouveau regard nous sera donné pour voir Dieu qui est
compassion, lent à la colère et plein d’amour. Le texte de
l’évangile pour le premier dimanche de l’avent semble loin de la
joie de Noël. Rappelons le
contexte. Au début du chapitre 13 de Marc, les disciples sont
fiers de l’ampleur et de la beauté du temple. La réponse de Jésus
est d’enseigner la destruction prochaine du temple et la fin des
temps. Le temple ne sera plus l’emplacement de Dieu, Dieu sera
ailleurs et partout. Où chercherons-nous Dieu en cette saison
de l’avent ? Soyons vigilants, restons éveillés dit Jésus,
surtout dans le chaos du quotidien. Si Dieu devient humain à Noël,
il devient trop facile de rendre Dieu comme nous, de chercher Dieu
par des voies humaines
et sous des formes humaines. Dieu n’est pas et ne sera pas là où
nous croyons le trouver. Marc coupe toute sentimentalité et tout
romantisme à propos de Noël et il nous rappelle que c’est une
affaire risquée.
Nous trouvons Dieu dans tout ce que signifie être humain, même
dans la mort. Dieu ne restera plus dans les
cieux ou derrière un rideau haut sur une colline. Dieu devient
l’un de nous pour apporter la vie. L’avent nous donne à nouveau le
temps et l’espace pour croire et vivre cette réalité. Nous
pourrions dire que
puisque le moment de la venue de Dieu à la fin des temps ne peut
pas être connu, nous n’avons pas besoin d’y penser beaucoup. Marc
tire la conclusion opposée : comme cela est inconnu, il faut y
penser tout le temps. Le temps de l’avent nous invite à attendre
avec impatience. L’avent est un temps d’attente, un temps
marqué par une anticipation urgente, par une aspiration à
l’accomplissement de ce qui a été promis. Jésus ne vient pas
seulement comme un enfant à Bethléem. Marc nous enseigne à voir
dans le récit de la passion
l’accomplissement de la venue finale de Jésus, le Fils du Dieu
unique. L’appel à la vigilance pour la venue du Jésus est le cadeau
de ce texte pour nous. Nous devons être sur le qui-vive et rester
éveillés pour le
retour du maître. Les événements de la naissance et de la mort
de Jésus sont inséparables ; nous ne pouvons pas avoir l’un sans
l’autre. C’est l’histoire du salut de Dieu en Jésus. Tel est le
message de l’avent.

PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
“My Jesus, I believe you are really present in the Blessed
Sacrament. I love you more than anything in the world, and I
hunger to receive you. But since I cannot receive Communion at
this moment, feed my soul at least spiritually. I unite myself to
you now as I do when I actually receive you. Never let me drift
away from you. Amen.

Altar; te amo, te adoro y deseo recibirte; mas, no pudiendo
