The SSS’ Summer School 2012 is your platform for outstanding medical course-based

Building on our extensive experience in hosting international students during the past 30 years,

the Students’ Scientific Society (SSS) is pleased to announce the SSS’ Summer School 2012, this

year the SSS has prepared a wide variety of choices between 4 different available courses along

side with our Social program that you don’t want to miss. All of this is provided in a very attractive

and cost-efficient offer for international medical students.

We hope that this course will inspire all participants and raise their knowledge Furthermore; the

variety of participants' nationalities should offer a unique opportunity for exchanging ideas,

cultures, and experiences.

The training will take place in Cairo

University (Kasr Al-Ainy) Teaching Hospitals

and Institutes. You are going to choose your

preference from one of the following courses

in high caliber departments:

Gynecology

1. Clinical examination of Gynecology

and obstetrics cases in the outpatient

clinic.

2. Experience the Gynecology ER with a

wide range of cases of Normal and CS

labor, ectopic pregnancy, eclampsia

and preeclampsia along side with

cases of abortion and bleeding.

3. Experience the Gynecology

operations including: laparoscopy,

hysterectomy, cystectomy, D&C and

much more to be seen.

4. Ultrasonography.

5. In-vetro Fertilization unit.

Cardiology 1. Clinical examination of cases in the

outpatient clinic; Rheumatic heart diseases, Ischemic heart diseases & heart failure.

2. Experience the ER >>> myocardial infarctions, angina, arrhythmias, shock status and heart failure.

3. Experience the OR >>> open heart surgeries including valve replacement, coronary bypass, ASD and VSD repair and much more.

4. Echocardiography. 5. Angiography.

Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine

1. Attending clinical examination in the

out patient clinic and bedside clinical

rounds of staff members; liver

cirrhosis, hepatitis & splenomegaly.

2. Ultrasonography and endoscopic

examination of the patients in the GIT

endoscopy unit & diagnostic

ultrasonography center.

3. Parasitology department for watching

microscopic slides of the parasites

causing the diseases; schistosomiasis,

amoebiasis, hydatidasis & more.

Pediatrics & neonatology

1. Clinical examination in the out patient

clinic and bedside staff member

rounds; resp. inf., gastroenteritis,

rheumatic fever, nephrotic and

nephritic syndromes and more.

2. Neonatology unit with different cases

of prematurity.

3. Nephrology unit; cases of Acute and

Chronic renal failure alongside with

dialysis.

During your stay in Egypt you are going to

Giza Pyramids

Visiting the three pyramids of Guizah, Sphinx and the Valley Temple with the magnificent experience of entering the great pyramid and watching the tombs of the pharos who were buried there thousands of years ago alongside with riding horses and camels in the vast desert around the pyramids.

Alexandria

The Pearl of the Mediterranean Sea. Upon arrival in Alexandria morning, you will start your full day tour. You will visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Catacomb, the Qaitbay Citadel, the Greco - Roman Museum, Stanley Bridge.

In addition to the above, two trips will be organized in the weekends to :
