Pictiúr 1:

Maidin Dé Luain atá ann agus tá na daltaígo léir ag éisteacht leis an múinteoirmatamaitice agus í i mbun oibre.

It is Monday morning and all the studentsare listening to the maths teacher working.

Tá na daltaí suite ag na binsí scoile agféachaint ar an gclár bán.

The students are at the desks looking at thewhiteboard.

Tá go maith agus níl go dona agus tá anmúinteoir ag leanúint uirthi leis an míniú.

All is good and the teacher continues withher explanation.

Pictiúr 2:

Sa dara pictiúr tá beirt daltaí ag féachaint gocúramach ar na leabhair agus ag leanúintthreoracha an mhúinteora.

In the second picture two students lookcarefully at the books and follow teacher’sinstructions.

Faraor géar, ní mar sin atá buachaill dána.Tá an fón póca ar siúl aige sa rang.

Unfortunately it is not this way for one boldboy. He has the mobile on in class.

Faigheann sé téacs óna chara Liam athugann cuireadh dó freastal ar chóisir inatheach siúd Dé hAoine.

He gets a text from his friend Liam invitinghim to attend a party in his house on Friday.

Míníonn Liam go mbeidh a thuistí imithe arshos don deireadh seachtaine chuig óstán saGhaillimh.

Liam explains his parents will be gone on aweekend trip to a hotel in Galway.

Mar sin, bheadh an teach saor. Therefore the house would be free.

Pictiúr 3:

Cuireann an múinteoir amach as an rang éagus tá air dul chuig oifig an phríomhoide.

The teacher puts him out of the class and hehas to go to the principal’s office.

Glaonn an príomhoide air agus ordaíonn sídon bhuachaill suí síos san oifig.

The principal calls him in and orders the boyto sit down in the office.

Míníonn sé di go raibh an fón in úsáid aigesa rang, go raibh sé ina amadán críochnaithe agus go raibh a fhios aige gombeadh sé i dtrioblóid.

He explains to her that he was using thephone in class, that he was foolish and thathe knew that he would be in trouble.

Tá cóip de rialacha na scoile ag anbpríomhoide agus míníonn sí dó nárthaispeáin sé meas ar an múinteoirmatamaitice ná ar na daltaí eile ina rang.

The principal has a copy of the school rulesand she explains to him that he did notshow respect for the maths teacher or theother students in the class.

Deir sí leis go raibh sé ag cur isteach ar anobair scoile.

She tells him he was upsetting the schoolwork.

Sa tríú pictiúr tosaíonn rudaí ag dul chundonais don bhuachaill sa rang.

In picture three things begin to go wrong forthe boy in the class.

The teacher catches him texting his friendLiam.

Siúlann sí síos chuig a bhinse. She walks down to his desk.

Tá cailín agus buachaill ag faire ar anmúinteoir ag tógáil an fhóin ón mbuachailldána.

A girl and boy are looking at the teachertaking the phone from the bold boy.

Tá sé i bponc ceart anois. Cad a dhéanfaidhsé? Níl leithscéal ar bith aige.

He is in real trouble now. What will he do?He has no excuse.

Tá sé an-neirbhíseach. Tugann an múinteoiríde béil uafásach dó.

He is very nervous. The teacher gives out tohim.

Sa chúigiú pictiúr cuireann an príomhoideglaoch ar mháthair an bhuachalla agusbaintear geit aisti nuair a chloiseann sí anscéal faoina mac ag briseadh na rialacha.

In the fifth picture the principal rings theboy’s mother and she gets a fright when shehears about her son breaking the rules.

Ní chreideann an mháthair go ndéanfadh amac a leithéid.

His mother cannot believe that her sonwould do such a thing.

Tá díomá uirthi. She is disappointed.

Iarrann an príomhoide uirthi teacht isteachchun cúrsaí a phlé agus deir an mháthair godtiocfaidh sí isteach ar scoil cinnte, ganmhoill.

The principal asks her to come in to discussthe situation and his mother says that shewill come in certainly, without delay.

Sa phictiúr deireanach tá cruinniú ag anbpríomhoide leis an mbuachaill dána agus amháthair.

In the final picture the principal meets thebold boy and his mother.

Ní mó ná sásta atá an príomhoide. Míníonn sígur bhris an mac na rialacha, nár thaispeáinsé dea-shampla do na daltaí eile agus nachraibh aon rogha aici ach é a chur ar fionraí arfeadh cúpla lá.

The principal is far from happy. Sheexplains that the son broke the rules, thathe did not show a good example to theother students and that she had no choicebut to suspend him for a couple of days.

Deir Mam go bhfuil sí an-mhíshásta leis anmac, nach raibh sé ag obair do na scrúduitheagus go gcaithfidh sé foghlaim ón eachtra seo.D’impigh sí air gan a leithéid a dhéanamh arís.

The mother says that she is unhappy withher son, that he was not working hard forthe exams and that he will have to learnfrom the incident.

Deir an mac go bhfuil brón mór air faoi seoagus geallann sé nach ndéanfaidh sé arís é.

The son says that he is very sorry about thisand he promises that he will not do it again.

Gabhann an buachaill leithscéal agus deirimseleat gur fhoghlaim sé ceacht luachmhar.

The boy apologises and I assure you helearned a valuable lesson.
