On Wednesday, May 16, New York City Opera held its Spring Gala: An Evening with Deborah Voigt. The historic Central Park Boathouse set the stage for an unforgettable event, which began with cocktails on the deck and gondola rides on the Lake, complete with serenades from tenor Eric Barry. Festivities continued with dinner and a magnificent performance by Deborah Voigt, with Ted Sperling at the piano, featuring a diverse program of numbers ranging from Wagner’s “Dich Teure Halle” to Sondheim’s “Losing My Mind,” and culminating in an unforgettable collaboration with Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks. Dessert and dancing rounded out the magical evening.
