Teachers Bios
Anne Bowers Anne is from the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia where her studio is located in Middle-
way. She teaches class there and travels to many states to teach basketry classes and has even
taught aboard a cruise ship! She has woven for 29 years and taught for 15 or more years. She
produced baskets and sold them for a living, gradually making the leap from that to teaching. It
has given her a storehouse of knowledge from which to draw. She regularly participates in ex-
hibits in her home state and other areas winning several awards.
Char Clammaichella Char has been weaving about 20 years, after becoming addicted when weaving just one basket.
She began selling her baskets at fine arts festivals with the help and encouragement from family
and friends. After years of selling she began making her own designs and teaching at guild
meetings. This has led to teaching at state conventions, conferences and many other guilds.
Char loves playing with color placement to get many different patterns and looks. She has been
on the board of Wildwood Basketry Guild for many years and the coordinator of the Winter
Weave Conference for the last 12 years.
Patty Feather
Patty Feather the artist, provides the opportunity of students of any skill level to create woven
art work and develop new skills in her classes. She has a web site which offers patterns and kits
for baskets she has designed. Patty has created 100 plus basket design over the years. Her
website is WWW.Featherbaskets.com
Eileen Mirsberger Eileen is the owner of East Troy Basketry in East Troy, WI. She has been teaching basket
weaving for ten years in her shop and at weaving events in Illinois and Wisconsin. Eileen
brings teachers from all over the U.S. to teach at her shop and developed her own weaving
skills by taking classes from all of them. She enjoys passing on all that she has learned to her
students.
Pam Talsky Pam started her basket career with a pine needle basket in 1993, since then she has traveled to
Thailand with the Royalwood tour and made 11 trips to Alaska to learn Pine Needle Basketry
from Jeannie McFarland and Native Haida weaving with Delores Churchill, while there she
harvests and prepares her own cedar used in her classes taught around the country. She also
teaches in her private studio in Waterford when she is not on the road. She was invited to Hi-
machal Pradesh, India in Nov 2010 to teach the local women pine needle basketry. Take the
time to visit with Pam at Spring Fling.
