OPENING GENERAL SESSIONwith Dr. Dennis Marchiori, Chancellor, Palmer College of Chiropractic

Increasing our Reach for a Healthier Tomorrow – 2 CE DC/CTThe chiropractic profession is underutilized. We have a greater capacity to improve the health of others than is generally recognized by the public. Limited cultural authority remains a significant barrier to the chiropractic profession playing a broader role in the healthcare system. In part, improved cultural authority and expanded access depends on the profession’s ability to communicate a clear, creditable, and authentic identity for the profession. In this presentation, Dr. Marchiori discusses the importance of our clinical and public perception re-search, educational programs, values, and professional community to inform and drive our profession’s success.

Friday 8:00 am – 10:00 am Instructor: Dennis Marchiori, DC, PhD

Functional Fitness & Chiropractic – up to 8 CE DC/CTOur patients are participating in a multitude of workouts. Due to these workouts they may be experiencing injuries or an exacerbation of in-juries. Understanding these common exercises is important for both our treatments and for ensuring positive patient outcomes. We will go through common exercises in this two-part series with live demonstrations to evaluate and display these movements. This class is designed for health care professionals who want a more in-depth understanding of bootcamps, HIIT, CrossFit and DIY workouts. We’ll go through a variety of popular exercises, including pull up, deadlift, snatch, clean, burpee, bench press, medicine ball movements, kettle bells, squat variations and battle ropes, discuss some common injuries, and demonstrate appropriate adaptations that can help with reha-bilitation and recovery.

Attendees will have the opportunity to share case studies and request further demonstrations based on their own experience in clinic.

Wear comfortable clothing to allow for movement and exercise.

The fast-paced discussion will progress to highlight five commonly overlooked “functional” problems that delay NMS recovery. In one way or another, these functional diagnoses contribute to many, if not all, of the lumbar structural diagnoses that chiropractors treat. The presentation concludes by sharing current knowledge about “treatment classification” to help providers accurately predict and choose the most likely solutions.
