In every lesson there are Standards with Objectives and Indicators of Learning

Kindergarten Fall Portraits
• We used shapes and lines to create ourselves.
• Then we drew a background to reflect the time of year.
• The students were amazed how much their pictures looked like them!

“I’m using the side of the marker to make thick lines in my pattern. The more I draw and trace around the leaves the lines create movement.”

2nd Grade Spider Webs
2nd Graders read the “Eensy WeensySpider” which was an version of “TheItsy Bitsy Spider” Students drew their using fractions and dividing spaces evenlythen used a radial pattern to completethe lines in the web. The enjoyed puttingthe spiders on at the end!

2nd Grade Landscapes
Students used glue for the outlines like astained glass window. They showed foreground
middle ground and background using warmand cool colors.

We used warm colors for the pattern on the shell and cool colored tissue paper for the backgrounds.
1st Grade Sponge Painted Snowmen
Who would of thought the turtle’s shell is used for jewelry.

Two 3rd Grade classes made clay bells…
They experienced a whole unit on clay and where it comes from.
They shaped the clay over an egg carton and cup
Pieces were loaded into a kiln to fireThey are baked at 1750 degrees
Then the students glaze them and they areFired again at 1999 degrees F.
Veronica MorfinThe finished pieces had string and glass beadstied into the inside so they would ring!
4th Graders studied Mexico and the importance of Symbols in Mexican Art
I like mixing the primary
colors to make the secondary
colors!
They created their own clay sun andadded a cartoonish face for decoration.
Students were proud of the results!!!!

Students studiedVincent Van Goghand learned whyhe was one of theworld’s most tragicartists.
They created their own version of “Starry Night” using oil pastels. They lovedcreating the city below the stars in 3-D.

5th graders latest projects were their printedself portraits they drew using symmetry.
Never knew that your eyes are located in the center of your face.
Do I have to draw every dred for my hair? This is going to take forever…but it does look good!
Leonard Da Vinciwas a scientist and an artist who knewthe human face was divided intoproportions. Yourface is five eyes wide.
It’s neat how our features
look so different but
are located on the same
planes.
