Submitting Your edTPA Portfolio to Pearson – Part 1 The edTPA submission process for official scoring involves 6 steps: 1. Create an account with Pearson. 2. Register your edTPA with Pearson (you will need your social security number and your voucher number). 3. Uploading your edTPA materials to the “Task 1”, Task 2”, and “Task 3” assignment listings in the appropriate course. 4. Getting approval of these materials from your university supervisor or program coordinator. 5. Upload your edTPA materials to the “Final Submission to Pearson” assignment listing in Live Text (you will need your authorization code) and submit. 6. Submitting  Your  edTPA  Portfolio  to  Pearson  –  Part  1  The  edTPA  submission  process  for  official  scoring  involves  6  steps:  

1. Create  an  account  with  Pearson.  2. Register  your  edTPA  with  Pearson  (you  will  need  your  social  security  

number  and  your  voucher  number).  3. Uploading  your  edTPA  materials  to  the  “Task  1”,  Task  2”,  and  “Task  3”  

assignment  listings  in  the  appropriate  course.  4. Getting  approval  of  these  materials  from  your  university  supervisor  or  

program  coordinator.    5. Upload  your  edTPA  materials  to  the  “Final  Submission  to  Pearson”

6. Check  your  edTPA  materials  in  the  Pearson  system  and  submit  for  official  scoring.  

 Step  1:  Create  an  account  with  Pearson  

1. Go  to  www.edtpa.com      

2. Click  on  “Sign  in  now”  (on  the  right  hand  side)    

3. Select  “Create  an  account  now”    

4. Create  your  account.    Step  2:  Register  to  submit  your  portfolio  (Please  note:  You  will  need  your  social  security  number  and  your  edTPA  voucher  for  this  step)      1.  Select  “register”  (on  the  right  hand  side).  

     2.  Click  on  “Next”

 3.  Select  “Review  instructions  and  register”  in  the  “Integrated  edTPA  platform  provider  system”.      

   4.  Click  “Register  now”.  

 5.  Complete  “Required  Candidate  Information”.    6.  Review  “Candidate  Information”,  check  box,  and  click  “submit”.  

 7.  Confirm  your  identification.  

 8.  Assessment  Selection  –  Chose  the  “national”  version  of  your  edTPA  content  area  handbook  from  the  drop  down  menu,  click  “add”,  and  then  click  “next”.    9.  Educator  prep  program  –  select  Illinois  State  University  from  the  drop  down  menu,  click  “add”,  and  click  “next”.    10.  edTPA  Field/Specialty  Area:  Choose  the  option  that  best  describes  what  content  area  will  be  seen  in  your  edTPA  learning  segment  and  click  “next”.      11.  Classroom  grade  level:  Choose  the  grade  level  that  best  describes  what  students  you  worked  with  for  your  edTPA  learning  segment,  click  “add”,  and  then  click  “next”.      

 

 12.  School  context:  Select  the  school  context  that  most  aligns  with  the  school  at  which  you  completed  your  edTPA.

13.  edTPA  language:  Confirm  whether  or  not  your  edTPA  portfolio  is  in  English  or  another  language  and  click  “next”.    14.  English  language  proficiency:  Confirm  whether  or  not  your  primary  language  is  English  and  click  “next”.    15.  Ethnicity:  Select  the  category  that  best  describes  your  ethnic  background  or  select  “undeclared”.      16.  Reason  for  assessment:  select  “Educator  preparation  program  requirement”  and  click  “next”.      

   17.  Highest  education  level:  Select  your  highest  level  of  education  and  click  “next”.  Unless  you  already  have  a  bachelor’s  degree,  select  “some  college”.    18.  Use  of  materials:  It  is  your  option  as  to  whether  or  not  you  want  to  give  Pearson  and  SCALE  permission  to  use  your  materials  for  professional  development  purposes.  Click  “next”  when  you  have  selected  your  response.      19.  Score  reporting  options:  It  is  your  decision  as  to  whether  or  not  you  want  your  scores  sent  to  you  via  e-­‐mail.  DO  NOT  select  to  have  your  scores  sent  to  any  state,  including  Illinois.  Click  “next”  once  you  answered  the  questions  regarding  delivery  of  scores.  

 20.  Review  your  registration  and,  if  it  looks  correct,  click  on  “Add  to  cart”.    

 21.  View  cart  and  click  on  “check  out”.    22.  Review  the  agreement,  indicate  your  agreement,  and  continue  on  to  payment.

 23.  Payment:  Enter  your  voucher  number  in  the  area  indicated  and  complete  the  process  as  directed.      

         26.  Next  Steps:  Click  on  “Next”  under  Choose  Platform  Portfolio  System.      

   24.  Payment:  Select  that  you  understand  the  withdrawal  policy  and  click  “next”.    

   25.  Submit  order.

 27.  Choose  “edTPA  platform  provider”.      

 28.  Authorization  Key  Agreement:  Click  “I  Acknowledge  and  continue”.    

 29.  Record  your  authorization  code  and  return  to  Live  Text  to  continue  the  submission  process.
