President’s Letter continued...the Alumnae Chapter’s office of president after serving three years this coming May at Pansy Breakfast. I am joyful about both the additional work and family opportunities. However, I will miss being the group’s president.

We’ve had a great three years. We have welcomed new members while cherishing our veteran members and enjoying fun events. We became financially stable. We moved to utilizing evites and gorgeous e-newsletters (Jodie Thill, Retta Meser, Elizabeth Durkin 2008-2009, Ann Kammerer, current) to save money while reaching more Tri Deltas and stimulating interest in our group across the generations. The directories have been among the loveli-est and most useful created by Heidi Rettler and Jean Lang (2008-2009) and Nora Werra and Jean Lang (current).

We have accomplished all of this while celebrating three terrific Sleighbells, under the leadership of Retta Meser (2008, 2009) and the Tri Chairs Torre Froehlich, Ann Kam-merer, and Cindy Thorne (Sleighbell 2010). Thank you, Ladies, for all of your hard work and that of your steering committees which have allowed us to continue to support Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and the children fighting cancer here in our home state. You have kept this tradi-tion going during the worst recession of our lifetime when many groups are not only unable to raise funds, but must disband entirely.

Congratulations to everyone and thank you for all that you have accomplished. I look forward to our continued friendship and support of our ideals and philanthropy.

Delta Love,Bobbi

note FroM a sLeigHBeLL tri-CHairMany thanks to all who participated in the 37th annual Sleighbell luncheon and styleshow. It was held in the beautiful Crystal Ballroom of the downtown Hilton Hotel on December 4, 2010. With the timely assistance of Applebees we were able to collaborate our funds to purchase for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Oncology Unit 23 TV’s with DVR’s. We were absolutely thrilled to be able to accomplish this goal

How were we able to raise our part of the donation that was $5500? Thru YOUR purchase of raffle tickets for both the Elegant Baskets and the 10 minute instant raffle, a portion of your ticket price and by a much expanded silent auction table that had very generous bids.

We are all proud to belong to such a charitable and caring Tri Delta Alumnae Association of Milwaukee.

dear tri delta sisters,

our 37th luncheon, on december 4th, 2010, raised over $5,500 to be donated to Children’s Hospital of Wi. Because of sisters like you, our alumnae chapter has helped countless children suffering from cancer through our fundraising efforts over the years.

the alumnae Chapter Board encourages you to get involved. We are currently looking for people to volunteer to be on the steering committee. Fresh ideas and new faces are welcomed. We have found that by serving on the committee, great friendships have been formed . also, fundraising of this type is a fantastic addition to your resume!

Please feel free to contact Krislyn Holaday - Wond-rachek at: [email protected] You can make a difference in our chapter’s philanthropic mission. the future of this event depends on the response we get. Please consider volunteering your time.in the Bonds,

Urgent: VoLUnteers needed For sLeigHBeLL and President oFFiCes

The Nominating Committee has been searching for the past several weeks for a new President and Sleighbell Chair. While we desperately need your help to fill both of these positions, the Board has determined that if we do not fill the Sleighbell Chair position by Friday, May 6, 2011, there will be no sleighbell Luncheon in 2011. The Board believes that we simply cannot coordinate this large event through the Board, and without a chairperson to head it up, the event will not take place. We hate to see a 37 year tradition interrupted for lack of a chairperson. so, if you are interested, please contact a member of the nominat-ing Committee (email addresses noted below) on or be-fore May 6, 2011. remember: without a chair, sleighbell will not happen in 2011.

The Sleighbell Chair position is one of the most critical positions of our chapter. The Sleighbell Luncheon is, of course, our biggest event of the year, so having an excited new chair (or chairs—you don’t have to do it alone!) is vital to the success of this event. In terms of the office of President, she coordinates all of our meetings and tries hard to make sure that we all work well together.

Duties for both offices will begin after Pansy Brunch on May 7, 2011. If you want to volunteer or have any ques-tions, you should contact a member of the Nominating Committee.

(In her own words)

I have been a member of the Milwaukee Area Chapter for a few years now, and am currently serving as our Vice President—Events. I attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Delta Eta Chapter), and, after graduating in 1994 I also served as Alumna Advisor for Omicron Chapter at Syracuse University in upstate New York while attending law school there.

I graduated from Syracuse University Law School in 1997 and returned to the Milwaukee area shortly thereafter to practice law. I worked with a firm in Oconomowoc for a little over 6 years, and then in 2004, opened my own law practice in Brookfield where I practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Administration, and Real Estate Transactions.

In 2005, I married Bill Wondrachek, and we now have two children. Our daughter Sophena (yay, legacy!) is almost 4 years old, and our son Samuel is just six months old. They challenge me and make me laugh every day, and I am so proud to be their mom.

Tri-Delta has always been very im-portant to me. The social and phil-anthropic aspects of Tri-Delta are very invigorating, and it feels good to meet and get to know women who have a common history. While

I am very busy, I continue to believe it is so important to stay a part of our Tri-Delta family.

I also have a group of about seven Tri-Delta sisters with whom I am very close. We live all over the country now, but we still get together—at least once a year—for an an-nual ladies-only event we call “Delta Fest.” We also now gather every other summer for “Family Fest for Deltas” in the Wisconsin Dells (lucky for me—I live the closest of anyone for that event!). We all bring our entire families and enjoy the water park and the warm weather while we catch up and watch our children get to know each other. It is such a joy to see.

I am so grateful for all the rewards of friendship that Tri-Delta has given me over the years. It is such a gift that I know will keep on giving!
