TEAM GUIDELINES
• Use of profanity will not be accepted and will be punished.
• Be a POSITIVE role model for the community.
• Under no circumstances will a player take another player’s equipment or personal belongings.
• Losing equipment or leaving it at home will result in an AA and paying for the equipment if lost.
• In order to be successful, we must fight through heat, rain, aches, pains, and GET OUR WORK DONE.
• Do not bring valuables to practice.
• No jewelry is allowed while in any type of football attire.
• Label your equipment with your name and number.
• We will take a business-like approach. “If you aren’t here on business, you have no business being here.”
• Coaches will make personnel decisions based on what’s best for the TEAM, not the individual player. If you are dissatisfied with your position, or playing time, DOESN’T BE A GRUMBLER! WORK HARDER AND HAVE A GREAT ATTITUDE!
• Handle your emotions in a positive manner. Always strive for self control on times of adversity. Displays of temper include throwing equipment, will be dealt with harshly!
• There will be no walking on the football field during practice or games. Football is supposed to be fun. Practice and play with enthusiasm.
• Players will hustle at all times. Lack of hustle is a show of selfishness and will be dealt with harshly!
• Players will always be positive with their teammates.
• Negative comments or insults will not be tolerated. We are a family and must support each other as such. When appropriate to leave the bench to show support, or to congratulate a teammate, all team members will go and support, or congratulate them.
• All spectators are encouraged to watch practice sessions,
as long as their presence is not distracting or negative.
Attendance
1. Players are expected to attend ALL meetings, practices, and
team functions, ON TIME! Not knowing about an event or
the time is not an excuse! If the team is there, you must be
there.
2. A player must be in attendance unless excused by the
HEAD COACH.
3. If unable to attend, he must PERSONALLY notify the
HEAD COACH prior to the activity, allowing enough time
to make preparation for his absence. WORD PASSED ON
BY SOMEONE ELSE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!
4. An unexcused absence will result in an extended AA. A
second unexcused absence will result in 1 game suspension.
A 3rd unexcused absence will result in expulsion from the
team.
5. A player who has an unexcused absence the day before a
game will not dress in that game.
6. A player who comes late to practice, game, or function,
will be assigned an AA.
Coach Fullerton’s Ideal Football Program
MISSION STATEMENT A comprehensive football program, which emphasizes the development of
lifelong values and skills through hard work, sportsmanship, ethical conduct,
and fair play. The foundation of which is based upon open communication
and mutual respect among coaches, athletes, and officials. Serving as
positive, powerful, productive force for the team, community, and most
importantly the athlete.
OBJECTIVES To provide an attractive program for athletes:
- make player safety and welfare our HIGHEST priority
- provide the athletes with an enjoyable and rewarding experience
To teach the game of football: - Specific football skills and strategies
- sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play
To make the football program a source of community pride:
- Help each athlete to interact positively with the community and fellow team mates.
- make the team a positive influence on all who come in contact with it
PHILOSOPHY Control field position:
- GREAT DEFENSE- Stop the run and pressure the quarterback
- SOUND SPECIAL TEAMS- Create positive “Sudden Changes”
- ERROR FREE OFFENSE- Exploit the defense and eliminate set backs
GOALS Play Hard: Ability- due to conditioning
Play smart: Desire- due to motivation
Be a Champion: Character- due to commitment
Making football H.A.R.D
Hustle-Practice is a time for affirmative action, it is a time to develop fundamentally as a
unit and individually, it is a time to develop mental discipline and Positive habits. All
players are expected to Hustle during drills, between drills, to breaks, returning from
breaks, to the huddle, to their position, on and off the field, and MOST IMPORTANT
SNAP TO WHISTLE. Remember this, "if your on the GRASS give it the GAS!"
Attitude-Maintaining a positive approach in practice and games, towards teammates,
coaches, officials, and opponents. Giving nothing more and nothing less than you are
capable of at all times. We don't ask for 110% because that is not a reasonable request,
when you continually try to perform at a higher level then you are capable of you break
down, cars cant do it neither can players. Just give your best because no contribution is
too small and EVERY player has an important role in the success of the team!
Respect-This builds the character of our team, Treat others the way you would like to be
treated, Respect their feelings, Respect their effort, Respect who they are! Everyone who
plays this game deserves respect, Respect those who came before you and those who will
follow, we are all one family playing the greatest game in the world!
Discipline-In order to be successful you must be mentally disciplined at all times. Mental
discipline gives us focus, poise, and confidence, it gives us the ADVANTAGE.
Developing and maintaining concentration during practice and games helps to eliminate
mental mistakes and penalties. Physical mistakes are part of the game and sometimes no
matter how much we practice can not be avoided, we do not worry about these mistakes
because over the course of a game they will even out for both teams and we can
overcome them. Mental mistakes are the sole responsibility of us, as individuals and as a
TEAM! If we eliminate mental mistakes we eliminate our worst enemy and maximize
our enjoyment and success as a team!
As a team we will always work H.A.R.D.

My Commitment as a Bear
I'm part of the fellowship of the truly committed. I have that Bear Competitive Spirit
Power. The dye has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made.
I’m a Disciple of Success. I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.
My past is history, my present makes sense, my future is determined. I'm finished and
done with low living, sight walking, small planning, colorless dreams, tamed visions,
mundane talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I
don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I have
mobilized my forces, am supported by teammates, walk by patience, am elevated by
effort and know that what is due me will catch up to me, drawn along in the jet stream,
the forward motion of my hard work.
My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is the Championship, my road is narrow, my way
rough, my companions few, my guide reliable, my mission dear. I have decided to Ride
The High Places. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back,
deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of
adversaries, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, meander
in the maze of mediocrity, wander in the deserts of doubt, or be lost in the murky swamp
of I don't know.
I won’t give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stared up, pumped up, paid up, and
practiced up for the cause. I am a disciplined persevere. I have a plan to make it happen,
give till I drop, preach till all know, Crusade for our success and refuse to lose. No matter
how long it takes, no matter how hard it is, no matter how much it costs, no matter what I
have to personally sacrifice, I'll do whatever it takes to achieve my goals. The
slaughterhouse of failure is not my destiny. I will Never, Never Quit. I am committed to
my own success and the success of my teammates. Together Everyone Achieves More. I
will help them sing their song and they mine.
Yes, I am a truly committed Bear. Join me in the Quest for Greatness. Let us Ride the
High Places together as we reach for the stars.
Warrior Creed The warrior spirit reminds me that no one can stop me today: That this is my day. Hidden inside of me is a warrior who reacts on instinct waiting to be released. As I buckle my chinstrap, instinct consumes my body and mind, knowing that I have worked harder and prepared myself to conquer the man across from me. Life will no longer be the same. I will push myself to unbearable pain only to have that pain fade away each time the ball is snapped. Fatigue plays no favorites in football. It only fears those who have worked hard in the days before the game. I visualize myself making plays only champions could make. My heart races as the game is fast and bodies move in blurred motion. Blood and sweat bead off my body as the game goes on. My emotions take over, challenging my limits. It’s simple! The battlefield is made up of warriors that play an intense game based upon the elements of speed, strength and endurance. This game is a way of life, and it has taught me all that I know. After each battle, I lie physically exhausted, left only to ponder on the blessings of competition and victory.
Warrior's Code
1. Warriors are disciplined people committed to excellence.
2. Warriors are positive people.
3. Warriors treat training sessions as personal proving grounds.
4. Warriors are persistent.
5. Warriors live a balanced life.
6. Warriors serve others.

– Texas 8972 – X=8, Y=9, H=7, Z=2
• Cities – Run (Decatur, Springfield, and etc…
– Decatur 8934 – first 2 numbers are dummy numbers last 2 are real. The
call would be 34
• County – Dummy Call (Macon, Sangamon, and etc.)
• The QB will be able to shift into any formation by calling the formation by name.
• Example: If a play is Called “Ace Right 36” and the opposing LB steps in the
hole, you might want to audible. The call would sound like this ( Texas
2108(pass) Decatur 8934 Zip (run) ). If you still want to run the same play you
might want to use ( Macon 8956 which is the dummy call). Just to see if the LB
backs off.
