The West Marshall soft-ball gals scored five runs inthe first and tacked on eightmore in the third to endthings early against Colo-NESCO, 13-0, in three in-nings.Colo-NESCO committed
six errors defensively andjunior pitcher LoranNicholson threw a no-hitterfor the Trojans.Renae Schaper had two
hits, two RBI and scoredthree times, while fellow
senior Morgan Crippsadded a pair of hits andRBI. Kalyn Polley chippedin two hits.Rylee Purvis took the
loss in the circle for theRoyals and Kohlwes cameon in relief. The duo al-lowed six earned runs oneight hits and finished withtwo K’s and one walk.The Trojans are now 8-7
on the season and the Roy-als fall to 5-11 on the sea-son.
North Tama 9, CN 3Colo-NESCO started
strong with three runs inthe first inning, but NorthTama answered back withfour in the second to takethe lead for good in their,9-3, Iowa Star win over theRoyals.The Royals were kept off
balance all night by Red-hawk pitching, whorecorded 18 strikeouts onthe night. Ephram Muntzhad a two-RBI single forthe Royals.Shawn Gilbert pitched
the entire six innings andallowed four earned runson eight hits, fanned sevenand walked two.Twin Cedars 13, CN 3The Royals were de-
feated in non-conferenceaction, 13-3, by TwinCedars. Kenny Cutler had an RBI
single for the Royals, whileSpencer Hansen, Gilbert,Lucas Frohwein and TrevorBurg all had one hit apiece.Hansen, Cutler, Brighton
Clatt and Burg all saw timeon the hill for Colo-NESCO. The group com-bined to give up 13 hits,eight earned runs, walkseven and fan three in 4 ⅔

all night as they scored sixruns in the second, seven inthe third and five in thefourth to end things early,18-3, over Colo-NESCO.The Royals had seven
hits by seven differentplayers with Burg beingcredited with a double.Hansen, Cutler, Drew

baseball action Madridhanded the Royals a, 10-1,setback and ended theirseason in the first round.The Royal offense man-
aged just two hits, one eachby Cutler and Kaleb Gray.Clatt went the distance

After rain pushed back theirClass 2A, District 13 firstround game on Saturday, theTrojan baseball team got toplay on Monday.When all was said and
done, West Marshall defeatedColfax-Mingo, 13-3, in six in-nings to advance to play DesMoines Christian on Tuesday,July 14th in Story City.The game was highlighted
by two three-run home runs bythe Trojans. Kaden Davis hithis first of the season in thefirst inning and finished 3-4on the night. Pitcher Kinnick
Christensen helped his owncause with a three run blast inthe sixth. Christensen finishedwith two hits, two runs andfour RBI.More Trojan offense came
from Jeremy Sly, who had twohits, two runs and two RBIand eighth-grader Clay Cuva,who had two hits, including adouble.On the hill, Christensen al-
lowed seven hits and walked apair.Results from Tuesday’s
game will be in next week’sEnterprise.
