♫ SPMS BAND UNIFORM INFORMATION ♫

Enclosed are uniform checklists and order forms for both the Beginning/Intermediate (6th grade) Band and the Advanced (7th/8th grade) Band. Please review these carefully. Note that

uniform orders are due to the Music Room on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.

Uniforms are required for each performance and all competitions.

Please submit one order form per student. Money can be combined for multiple students in

one check. Make checks out to SPMS Music Boosters, place in a sealed envelope and return to music room by October 19th.

Please measure carefully and reference the charts given for correct sizing

Gently used Tux shirts in a variety of sizes will be available on Charms and at the Fall Social for $5.00 (Oct 14, 7Pm).

New this year: All grades will purchase and wear silver bow ties and cummerbunds.

7th and 8th graders will need to rent the Tux jacket from the Boosters.

Jackets will be issued during class and will be assigned to your student. Jackets will stay

at school in hanger bags marked with the number assigned to your student.

Ordered Tux shirts and silver accessories will be sent home when order arrives.

Students should arrive at concerts FULLY DRESSED (Black pants, Black

socks/stockings, Black shoes, Bow Tie, Cummerbund, and White Tux shirt with Black

studs on shirt)

SEVERNA PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND UNIFORM 2016-17 CHECKLIST

The uniform is required for each performance and all competitions. Here is a checklist:

Beginning/Intermediate Band (6th graders)

Purchased through Boosters:

___ White tuxedo shirt (purchased; see order form) with black studs

___ Silver cummerbund and bow tie (purchased $10.00; see order form) KEEP FOR ALL 3 YEARS!!!!!!!!

Provided by the students:

___ White undergarments (t-shirts, bras/camisoles with white straps)

___ Black dress pants (full length) – no jeans, no capris, no skirts, no shorts and no skorts. Please make sure

these are black with no external markings (e.g., rhinestones, visible snaps, and white pocket buttons)

___ Black belt

___ Black socks/hose (no color bands)

___ Black dress shoes – no tennis shoes, sports shoes, or flip-flops; open toed shoes are discouraged as

hose/socks will be required to be worn

Advanced Band (7th and 8th graders)

Purchased and rented through Boosters:

___ White tuxedo shirt (purchased; see order form) with black studs

___ Silver cummerbund and bow tie (purchased $10.00; see order form) NEW THIS YEAR!!!

___ Black tuxedo jacket (rented $30.00; see order form)

Provided by the students:

A note about “black”. Black means black. We have seen students arrive in white socks, rhinestone studded

pants, no belt, and brown shoes, even dirty sneakers! Please work with your student to assure they understand

the uniform requirements before they dress or pack for the performance!
