the COmPaNyVCON Civil and Building Projects started trading as a small close corporation in 2007. The company was founded by Markus Venter with the objective to enter the construction environment as a young, dynamic civil and building company. VCON started focusing on earth works, civil and building projects, at first, in the middle and later the higher market of the industry.

With more than 18 years’ experience as a civil engineer technician, Markus has been involved in major bulk earth works, railway construction, civil concrete structures and building development projects, within the commercial and mining environment. Being proud and dynamic in all aspects of a project, laid a sound foundation for the principals by which VCON trades and executes each project.

CIVILS

• VCONCIVILANDEARTHWORKSdivisionoperatesinthecommercial,residentialandindustrialmarkets.• Bulkearthworks,Stormwater,raftfoundations,re-inforcedconcretestructures,etc.areonlyafewoftheservicesweoffer.• Thisdivision,togetherwithourBuildingdepartment,hassuccessfullycompletedfivemajorprojectsforSteinMullerAfricaat their Plant in Pretoria West. this stand out project entailed: the upgrading of existing, and construction of new concrete surface beds, roads and storm water surfaces. the VCON civil team also specializes in the construction of machine bases with accurateplacingofholdingdownitemsatthespecifiedtolerances.WecompletedthenewSteinMullerBHRplantasthemain contractors in 8 months, with a civil and building turnover in excess of 40 million rand. the scope consisted of 20 000m2 new concreteflooring,15000m2paving,5000m2GunnitingandGabionsandseveralmajorRCBasesandFoundations.• OtherProjectscompletedisaslistedinourattached“COMPLETEDPROJECTSHISTORY”schedule.

All skilled staff, supervisors, carpenters, concrete and shutter hands are experts in their respective fields and are devoted to improve together with the company. All our employees have been trained and certified, by Accredited SESA service providers, as competent in their respective trades.

We are proud owners of new earthworks machinery, complying with the mine standards and safety regulations. Our goal is to expand our earthworks division together with our civil and building sector, in order to produce a strong unit that can operate in the industry under all the disciplines at once.

hEaLTh AND SaFETyVCON has implemented and maintain an integrated SHEQ Management system which complies with the ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000. We utilize the services of an inde-pendent safety consulting company, who do random audits and ensure all projects are executed under the required safety plans and policies.

Our core team of skilled labour and foreman undergo safety training regularly with an accredited institution. We also aim to educate our staff to improve their ability on site, to work safe and competent and ensure the client has the peace of mind that his contractor is the best in the market.

Thehumanresourcedepartmentrunsinconjunctionwiththeadministrationoffice.Allhumanresourceaspectsarecontrolledandrecordedbytheofficewiththeas-sistance of the site managers.

VCONoperatesasaprofessionaloutfitwithacompleteadminunit.ThisunitmakesuseofPastelProfessionalPrograms,ensuringthatallfinancialaspectsofthecompanyarerunefficientlyandprofitably.Wealsomakeuseofanauditingfirm,BJPriest and Associates, who hold regular meetings with Management ensuring that VCONremainsasoundfinanciallystrongcorporation.

PaRTNERSANDSUB CONTRaCTORSOffering Turn key projects to our clients we need to make use of specialized sub-contractors and suppliers. VCON do have partners in the Steel Fabrication and erection industry that we use for our Structural steel contracts. We offer design, fabricate and installation of all makes of Steel structures, HD bolts, cast in items and steel roofing.

Our engineering, Architectural and professional consulting partners have completed several projects in the industry with us. Our relationship with them ensures a wider range of feasibility in a competitive market.
