RFgen Software, a division of DataMAX Software

Group, specializes in using mobile data collection

and barcoding technologies to automate as many

manual supply chain processes as possible, enhancing

efficiency, accuracy and productivity for midsize to

enterprise-level SAP users. RFgen accomplishes this by

extending mobile data collection capabilities to point-

of-work using a combination of specialized software and

enterprise mobile devices with barcode scanning. The

company’s specialization in mobile data collection is

combined with additional specialization in supply chain

consultancy.

RFgen was founded as an asset tracking software

tool for mining companies. Since then, and in the

last 10 years, in particular, heavy investment in R&D

and innovation has enabled the company to provide

full mobile data collection solutions with certified

integration to SAP and many other major ERP systems

for any type of business operating in the supply chain.

RFgen Software’s mission is to provide reliable and

highly flexible mobile data collection solutions that

speed workflows, increase accuracy, improve efficiency

and reduce cost, thus enabling its customers to

successfully compete in today's global economy.

Robert Brice is co-founder, President and Chief

Technology Officer of RFgen Software. He has more

than 40 years of software programming experience with

specialization in mobile technologies and enterprise

resource planning (ERP) systems like SAP, Oracle, JD

Edwards and more. He leads the RFgen team in their

efforts to anticipate and react to major technology

changes, to ensure adherence to company technical

standards, and to ensure the maintenance of company

leadership in the competitive landscape through

strategic R&D planning.

Robert is responsible for the design, development

and go-to-market strategies for the RFgen technology.

During his career, he has acted as the channel manager

for both domestic and international partner recruitment

efforts; playing a key role in establishing the RFgen

partner network in over 35 countries around the world.

Robert has acted as a sales coach for internal sales

teams as well as for the company's partners. He has

been a featured speaker at International AIDC industry

conferences in the U.S., China, Singapore, Indonesia,

Australia, Belgium, Netherlands, and Italy. Prior to his

work with RFgen, Robert occupied several roles within

direct sales, technical sales, technical development,

sales and technical training, and software consulting

services for multiple industries.

RFgen offers mobile data collection software

through both out-of-the-box and custom-developed

apps for the supply chain, based on the customer’s

internal processes and SAP workflows. Using mobile

data collection and barcoding, the company can provide

real-time mobile inventory control for warehousing,

manufacturing, MRO and plant maintenance processes,

and more. As part of RFgen’s out-of-the-box offering, the

company offers a low-code mobile app development

environment specialized supply chain processes to

enhance SAP user self-sufficiency. The company also

provides consultancy for SAP mobile data collection

best practices and software.

RFgen is a paragon of flexibility. As a mobility

solution, the company does not install or run on

your SAP server, it automates any number of manual

entry fields, is device agnostic and entirely version-

independent from your ERP. RFgen easily integrates

with on-premise, cloud, hybrid deployments, as well

as multiple business systems and multi-tier ERPs. Even

as products change and evolve, users experience a

hassle-free process when it comes time to upgrade

SAP or migrate to the Cloud. The company's flexible

architecture makes it the most versatile and scalable

solution for growing enterprises pursuing digital

transformation and growth initiatives.

The global economy has changed business

dramatically in recent years. From the Amazon-effect to

high-end AI technology for business, companies that are

still utilizing old, paper-based processes are in jeopardy

of losing significant market share due to inefficiencies

and opaqueness in those processes. RFgen’s end-to-

end guided process creates faster workflows through

automation with real-time inventory tracking, shipping

and last-mile delivery using easy-to-use barcoding

scanning.

With key innovation and growth initiatives set in

place by Robert, RFgen will continue to flourish with

rapid year-over-year growth. Investments in additional

resources throughout 2019 will be leveraged to increase

the company’s bandwidth in 2020 while continuing to

expand its technology offering. RFgen is a tech company

that puts people first. It believes in hiring exceptional

people to deliver exceptional guided experiences to its

customers to create exceptional outcomes.

To a company growth, executives should have

a realistic outlook on the adaptability of company

processes and staffing to handle change can be a

significant disruption to operations. CEOs who are

personally invested in relationship-building with their

employees and department heads are well-positioned

to hear one-on-one feedback on potential speed bumps

on the road to growth. Also, executives shouldn’t lose

sight of the human factor when adopting technology

to facilitate growth. Technology solutions are not

replacements for human power, but rather, force

multipliers that augment existing labor to improve the

lives of employees while also helping the company grow.

As SAP and other large ERPs move to their new cloud

infrastructures, mobile data collection must follow suit

by offering scalable architectures, robust workflow

processes and seamless transitions from an on-premise

to cloud integration. The RFgen teams have been

working diligently on the next major release, version 5.2,

which will be the most Cloud-adaptable yet. Offering

low latency times, off-network and on-network flexibility

through its easy-to-use mobile application development

platform (MADP), RFgen is strategically positioned for

market share gain in the coming years.
