Bienvenidos!
• My goal is to teach your student to understand, speak, read and write in Spanish over the course of the semester.
• We will accomplish this through a variety of activities, including: oral presentations, group projects and individual practice.
• The curriculum covers a variety of subjects, such as sports, food, hobbies, activities, family, clothes and cultural study.
Your Spanish 1 student will be able to:
• Introduce themselves and inquire about others
• Discuss their likes and dislikes• Describe themselves and their family
members• Tell time and weather conditions• Conjugate verbs in the present tense• And more…
Your Spanish 2 student will be able to:
• Describe themselves and others• Discuss topics such as school, clothing sports,
and holidays• Describe their childhood and other past
events• Conjugate verbs in the preterite and imperfect
tense• And more…

Homework and AbsencesHomework • Complete homework will be checked off daily. • I only accept late work for chapter vocabulary and
projects.Absences• Make-up work will only be accepted for excused
absences (Please see the student handbook for the definition of an excused absence).
• Make up exams will only be offered for excused absences. Students must arrange to make up the exam during lunch or after school. Students have as many days as they were absent to make up the exam—no make-up exams will be accepted after that point.

Agendas/Stamp Sheets
•Students copy down agendas every day (standards, objectives, warm-up, class work, and homework)•Students receive stamps for completed assignments•Every Friday we turn in the agenda/stamp sheet
How is my student doing?
• I post grades on School Loop as quickly as possible. School Loop is usually updated every day.

Moving on to Spanish 2,3,4
Spanish 2, 3, 4 Recommendation• Students must receive a “C” or better at the
end of the term to be recommended for the next level.
• If students receive a D or an F they must repeat the term/class.
• I highly recommend students earn a B or better!
