Ten foots -gating schemesMany gating schemes have been supportedby your Ward councillors with funds from theWard budget. However, residents mustunderstand and accept that the gates, oncethey are installed, become their collectiveresponsibility for maintenance, insurance etc.

Hull City Council is unable to clean tenfoots or replace locks and keys. Any disputeswhich may arise regarding the gates are to bedecided by the residents. ALL residents areurged to keep gates locked at all times, apartfrom on waste bin collection day when all areencouraged to take their turn to open thegates and not leave it to one household. The gates are an effective deterrent to crimeand have reduced reported incidents of crimewithin the ward, significantly over the last 12years.

The Ward members have treated ten foots astheir number one Ward priority and numerousresidents have stated that the gated ten footshave not only improved securityimmeasurably, but have also made them feelsafer and reduced their fear of crime.Residents are also reminded not to parkillegally across a ten foot entrance causing anobstruction.
