Pearwood walls and large
windows frame sweeping
views from the aft and
dining salons. Etched
glass pocket doors create
versatile spaces, intimate
or expansive as desired.
The lounge area of the
dining salon features a
concealed large flat screen
television and the pair
of period Art Deco game
tables in the aft salon
can be used separately
or together for additional
dining. The private forward
office includes a state-of-
the-art communications
system, lounge seating and
retractable wide screen
LCD television.
In 2006 Naval Architect Bill Langan of Langan Design Associates was
engaged to design an extension to the vessel incorporating an open aft
deck and effortless water access and jet ski storage. Inside, additional
crew quarters and redesigned laundry and lazarette complement existing
operational areas. So Taj was repowered to achieve excellent cruising
speeds, fuel efficiency and emissions, meeting modern “green” standards.
As part of the refit Susan Orsini, of Orsini Design Associates redesigned the
interior completed in late 2008 featuring Art Deco and contemporary details
and furnishings in warm neutral tones punctuated by “So Taj blue” .
