1 Fra Presidenten Quiet is sometimes nice and something we sometimes don’t take time to have. But I’ve had a few of our members email me or stop in at the lodge and indicate that they’ve missed not being at the lodge for events this past month. After an extremely busy May and June with Syttende Mai, District Convention, bus groups, bingo, and building projects- I think we all needed a bit of a quiet time from lodge activities! But it’s also good to know that people miss it when we’re not doing activities together. Sons of Norway, for many of us, is more than just an organization we belong to. It’s a network of friends and family (or friends that are like family) who are doing constructive, positive and enriching activities and having fun along the way. Just like when we’re separated from friends and family, we miss them and look forward to being together again. We also miss the Sons of Norway lodge and members when we’re not together! I think that’s a good thing. To remedy this, we have an exciting fall schedule with many great meeting programs and cultural activities, classes to take and assist with, goals for our lodge members for cultural and sports skills, and hearing about many of your summer travels. This Sunday we host the Mandt Lodge and Zone 3 picnic- a great time to socialize, visit and NOT HAVE TO WORK!. I hope to see you there. I also want to thank everyone who had a part of the District 5 Convention. We had so many members that stepped into leadership roles for the convention and participated in a variety of ways. I am very humbled and blessed to be lucky enough to serve in a leadership role for a great group of members. We are blessed. What a convention it was!Sons of Norway- Mandt Lodge was very involved in the recent District 5 Sons of Norway conventionin Delavan. As a co-hosting lodge and with members chairing a number of activities, it has been abusy time of organization and preparation.

Thank you to everyone that put in countless hours in planning, organizing, doing paperwork andmailings, coordinating classes and bunad shows, registration and sponsorship work, creative layout, photography, and hosting people as they came to the convention. Hosting the District 5 Conventionwas certainly a team effort from the very start. We worked well with Norsemen of the Lakes andNordland Lodges to share our passion with other Sons of Norway members and offer them a fun, educational and beneficial experience that should help their home lodges become stronger, improveprogramming and only strengthen our organization as a whole!

Well done Mandt Lodge Members!

Mandt Lodge was been named 2012 Family Lodge of the Year andthe 2013 Lodge of the Year-Tier 1.
