Analogue to digital conversionThe analogue input signal is con-verted to a digital signal by a multi-range sigma-delta converter withan effective sampling frequency of 48kHz. The anti-aliasing filter is acombination of an analogue and adigitalfilter.

Indication rangeThe calibration of the instrumentallows microphones with sensitivity in the range -84dB to +15.9dB relative to 1V/Pa to be applied. Thecorresponding display range for the indicated sound level is -50dB to+180dB.

Self-noise levelsThe self-noise ismeasuredwith thecalibration set to –26.0dB corre-spondingtoamicrophonesensitivityof 50mV/Pa. For voltage input, thelevel 0dB then corresponds to 1µV.Typical values for the self-noise are 5dBlowerthanthevaluesstated.
