Thank you all for your support of last year’s Unity Day. This year we are plan-
ning to have it on Saturday, October 10 at the same place as last year’s event: Enmanji Bud-dhist Temple at 1200 Gravenstein Highway South, in Sebastopol. The time and program will be announced in next month’s newsletter, provided Intergroup can find someone willing to take on the job of producing our newsletter. And that brings me to the theme of this year’s Unity Day—Many Paths to Service: It’s all about the journey.
If you have decided you want to expand your service opportunities into the wider world of A.A., please attend our first Unity Day 2015 planning meeting on Tuesday, May 26 at the bookstore at 750 Mendocino Ave. in Santa Rosa, 6:30-7:30 p.m. We have plenty of tasks on hand that need someone like you to help showcase the many service opportunities we are lucky enough to have here in Sonoma County.

Secretary: (Jennifer R.) The General Meeting minutes of March 2015 were put forth and approved.
Treasurer: (Carolyn A.) Group contributions for February were $3,370 which was $219 more than February of last year. After ex-penses we had a net gain of $86. Bookstore income was $5,939 and after expenses there was a net loss $306.Overall we had a net loss of $220.00. Year to date we are $2,136.00 more than February of last year.
Registrar: (Madeleine T.) In February there were 221 groups offer-ing 344 meetings per week in Sonoma County. There were are cur-rently 117 groups that regularly send a rep. to the General Meeting. There were 72 reps. at February’s meeting. New reps are encouraged to sign in on the correct day of the week (clearly marked). And if a rep. is an alternate or just picking up items for another rep. please sign in using the reps. name, meeting time, and day.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Bookstore: (Donna K.) The book that will be on sale at the book-store for the month of April will be the “Pass It On.” The books nor-mal price is $15.91 but the sale price for April only will be $12.72 plus tax. That is a 20% savings. We are in full swing with our Spring/Summer hours. The bookstore is now open until 6:00 pm Monday – Friday and regular hours 11-3 on Saturdays. We have received some medallions in celebration of A.A.’s 80th Anniversary and the Interna-tional Convention in Atlanta this summer. The will cost $1.15 plus tax. We only ordered a few so if you want one come and get it ASAP. If they go well I will order more.
ICSC: (Jay S.) Inventory at Bookstore will take place on 3/29 at noon. Bookstore doing fiscally well. Jay’s commitment will be up and open. It is an 18-month commitment.

PI/CPC: (Manuel for Michelle G.) This past month, we had the op-portunity to make a presentation in one class at Laguna High School and six classes at Analy High School, both in Sebastopol. All were well received. Next month we are looking forward to co-presenting with NA at Casa Grande in Petaluma. We had three new speaker trainees this month. If anyone here is interested in volunteering, please come see me after the meeting tonight or better yet, come to our commit-tee meeting the second Wednesday of the month in the underground meeting room at city hall. Speaker training starts at 7 p.m. Our regu-lar meeting is from 7:30-8:30. We are especially in need of young people with two years of sobriety or more to help make presentations in the schools.

The “Fun Assembly” is Coming this Summer
Save the date! Here they come! Sonoma County District 12 and District 18 are hosting the CNCA 06 Summer Assembly, “the Fun
Assembly”, on Saturday, August 1. This event will happen at the Petaluma Veterans Memorial Hall, and will include guest speakers, fun, workshops and lots of sharing opportunities. We are expecting over 400 attendees.

BRIDGING THE GAP
What Bridging the Gap Means to Me
I first heard of Bridging the Gap during announcements at one of my weekly Petaluma A.A. meetings. My first interest was to be on the
phone list of volunteers that take newly released alcoholics from treat-ment centers to an A.A. meeting in their community. Well, I have never been called but I don’t take this personally. I have been guided towards two other fabulous commitments in Bridging The Gap; a monthly pre-senter at Mountain Vista and the liaison between PI/CPC and Bridging the Gap. My presenter service at Mountain Vista is a vital part of my re-covery. It provides a precious step for newly exiting men and women. In my past service commitments in H&I, I often thought that there needed to be more guidance towards the A.A. fellowship as soon as people leave a facility. It is an honor to be a part of an organized link between treatment centers and the A.A. fellowship. I say, “Stay in the middle of the pack, and take a service commitment.” Bridging the Gap consists of a wonder-ful group of responsible, recovering winners!

Dual Diagnosis a Topic of Growing Interest
Access Sonoma County (ASC) is putting out the call to all those interested in helping plan and put on the next Dual Diagnosis
Workshop in October of this year. “Dual Diagnosis” means that a per-son has both the disease of alcoholism and an additional mental health diagnosis of some kind (such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bi-polar disorder, etc.). Our 2015 plate is full at ASC, because we’re putting on two workshops: first, the Pain Management in Sobriety Workshop coming right up on May 30, then later this fall, the Dual Diagnosis Workshop.
Dual diagnosis is a topic of growing concern and interest to many in A.A. More than 70% of people who live with a mental health diagnosis also suffer from alcoholism — the highest percentage in any single popu-lation. As reflected by one of our hottest agenda items for the General Service Conference this year, our whole fellowship is becoming more interested in increasing access to A.A. for these numerous “still suffering alcoholics.” This local workshop, which has been so successful in recent years, is one great way to do this.
Many of us already sober in A.A. are navigating dual diagnosis, and have learned much of both its challenges and rewards. Those fortunate to have stayed sober over time have found much experience, strength and hope to pass along, as this life-saving wisdom has been passed along to us. The workshop will again open lines of communication on this topic in our fellowship, allowing many to share solutions, questions, and concerns.
We have an awesome “Pass it On” to work from, and will again offer a panel of speakers, open sharing, (and new this time!) perhaps several breakout meetings to choose from as well, in which attendees can hear and share more in-depth on the panelists’ topics. Annual Cache Creek Group Raft Trip The 28th annual Cache Creek Group Rafting trip will be held this
year from June 26-28, 2015. There will be speaker meetings on Friday and Saturday. The cost for the rafting trip is $150 until May 10 and $155 after May 10.
The cost of the trip includes two days of rafting, two nights of camp-ing, meals (Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday breakast and lunch) and a DVD with trip photos. There will be a potluck dinner Friday night. A camping only option is available this year.

SOCYPAA Hosts Camping Trip Sonoma County Young People in AA (SOCYPAA) will host its an-
nual “Wet Brain Olympics” camping trip June 12-14 at the Pleasure Cove Marina at Lake Berryessa, 6100 Hwy. 128, Napa. The camping trip will include games, fun, food, fellowship and speaker meetings Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m. Cost is $25. Co-hosting are other YPAAs, including EBYPAA, SACYPAA.
