With the crossbase software solution, all product information is maintained centrally in one place. This simplifies the production processes for the media to be created and ensures that the data source is always up-to-date. 

Based on the crossbase standard software, an individual PIM and crossmedia solution was implemented for MiniTec. Approx. 17,000 items including prices and approx. 15 basic data are continuously imported via the XML interface from the ERP system to the PIM. In crossbase, items are classified in the product structure and technical characteristics and product relationships are maintained in addition. The integrated image database is used to manage and link product photos, application photos, icons and graphics, among other things, and the graphics converter automatically generates additional image formats. Additional images, documents and videos are managed in a product-independent media structure. In order to keep the effort for text maintenance, including translations into six languages, as minimal as possible, enumerated texts are automatically generated from reusable document modules.

The translation of the continuous advertising texts takes place at the service provider on the basis of the TMS interface to Trados, the translation of the technical terms and document modules in the country. To be able to use items as standard articles in printed catalogs, electronic catalogs or online catalogs for specific markets, the articles are referenced in marketing-specific product views for the corresponding sales channels. These views serve as the basis for the print and online media and contain all marketing-specific product information.

The aim is to produce all print media automatically and database-supported. For the product part of the website (online catalog), the data is provided to the agency in a coordinated XML format and the required image files. The XML exchange format can be configured flexibly. Similarly, the product data is made available to trading partners in BMEcat format with eCl@ss classifications.
