A key factor in the success of Instore Kids Corner is our commitment to the continual development and improvement of our products

In 2012 we introduced new All-In-One PlayTouch computer ensuring our hardware takes full advantages of recent improvements in technology. IKC is now pleased to announce a full upgrade to our Play Touch software to also ensure this maximises the potential of our new platform.

The updated software not brings a vibrant new visual style to the software, but also features increased user interaction and two totally new games (construction and Tangram). Research shows that puzzle solving is a proven way of improving spatial aptitude in children, so our PlayTouch software now has several puzzle games to challenge and entertain. We hope you will agree the improvements are a huge leap forward.

This great new game exercises the childs problem solving abilities and encourages learning through trial and error. The goal is to assemble each of the 4 objects by placing the components in the correct location and in the correct order. Age options at the start of the game determine the difficulty, with the youngest players able to follow an onscreen visual clue to derive the solution. As the difficulty increases, the visual clues remain on screen for shorter periods with no visual clue provided for the most advanced level. A fun test of logical reasoning.

Tangram is influenced by an ancient Chinese game. There are 7 geometric pieces which must be arranged to make the final image. Recognition and analysing of shapes play a large part in solving each of the six puzzles. Age options at the start of the game determine the difficulty; with younger children only needing to put the pieces in place. At intermediate level the parts may also need rotating and in the highest level, no clues are given ensuring a challenging game.
