Saturday, July 17, 2010, was a day of tradition and elegance. Most importantly a day to share the love between Victoria Anastacia Salinas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roberto and Dora Salinas, and Juan Gilberto Muñiz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roberto and Lilia Muñiz. The couple was joined in holy matrimony at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Roma, Texas; city that witnessed both the bride and groom grow up. After a courtship of two and a half years the happy couple joined as one. The bride wore a white silk Eve of Milady ball gown with a cathedral length train and traditional veil. Expecting to search for weeks for the perfect gown, the bride was surprised to discover that she fell in love with weeks for the perfect gown, the bride was surprised to discover that she fell in love with only the second dress she tried on. Victoria decided right then and there, that she would marry Juan Gilberto in that gown.

The wedding ceremony was the single most important aspect of the entire day. They wanted nothing more than to pronounce their love for each other in front of God, their families, and their friends. The happy couple said their “I Do’s” after a beautiful acoustic rendition performed by the bride’s uncles, Angel and Abelardo, and cousin Alejandro of “Bendita Tu Luz” by Maná. The soft, romantic, pastel roses, surrounded by the clas-sic elegance of white hydrangeas, roses and calla lilies welcomed family and friends as they released their sweet scent throughout the dance hall. “Our wedding was every girl’s dream-come-true, and I could not feel more blessed than I do now. It was everything I ever wanted, it was a celebration of love with elegance, style and personal touch”, said Victoria. The newlyweds enjoyed a romantic two week vacation on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii and are now living joyfully in McAllen, TX.

An Elegant Wedding for the Girl Next Door Lily & Beto

Lilia Christina (Lily) and Juan Gilberto (Beto) were next-door neighbors since childhood. Grow-ing up in the small city of Roma, they became acquainted as he often visited her house to meet with her brothers. It was not until several years later that this unique tale of friendship would become a true love story.

During their senior year in college, Beto, accompanied by his parents, visited the Muniz Resi-dence to ask for Lily’s hand in marriage. To Lily’s surprise, Beto then got down on one knee and proposed in front of the people most important in her life, her parents, Roberto and Lilia Muniz. With tears filled in her eyes, she immediately accepted his proposal.

On August 7th, 2010, Lily entered Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church on her father’s arm. They momentarily glanced at each other before the Bridal March. This moment had finally arrived, the day a father’s baby girl would be wed to the man of her dreams.

Lily walked down the aisle in a strapless, silk gown designed by Amalia Carrara. The Victorian-inspired, ivory design was embroidered with Swarovski crystals and had a cathedral train with bustles and pleats.

Lily and Beto were united in the holy sacrament of marriage in the same church generations before them were married. After they exchanged the traditional vows, the newlyweds were emotional and anxious for their long-awaited reception.

The couple delighted their guests with a surprise rehearsed dance to their song entitled, “Then,” by Brad Paisley. After the toast, the celebration began as everyone joyously danced to the beat of the music by the band.

At the end of the evening, the couple drove home together as husband and wife. They were forever grateful to all the family, friends, and guests for joining them on their special day.

Soon thereafter, Lily and Beto enjoyed a fabulous honeymoon on the exotic island of Aruba.
